"I'm using the Ordinary shampoo and conditioner, but I do find that the shampoo does feel quite stripping. I feel like I need something that's a bit more hydrating. There is nothing in here that's hydrating. It's just a very basic, literally a very basic cleanser. You've got your sodium laurith sulfate, which they're saying is at 4%. So that's actually quite a gentle surfactant, but that's basically all that's here. Polysorbate is what creates some micelles around dirt to wash it away. Xanthan gum is a thickener and then tocopherol acetate we use a fraction of a percent. So you basically know this is what is more than a percent and there is nothing in here that's a humectant or that's going to hydrate the scalp and what can happen is flaking of the scalp if you don't have humectants in your shampoo."

"I don't use a shaving cream, I use The Ordinary shampoo or conditioner depending on how my hair feels. I've actually been doing this for quite a while, not with The Ordinary but with other brands. I've tried so many different shaving creams and I haven't found any that I absolutely love. The shampoo is really great because you can see what you're doing, so if you're trying to see if you got all of the spots this is a great option. The ingredients are exactly the same as shaving cream ingredients, they're hydrators, they're moisturizers, they're lubricants that are supposed to help the razor glide so that you don't nick or cut your skin. "I was not very impressed by this shampoo. It kind of washes your hair but I didn't feel like my hair was actually super clean. It didn't weigh down my hair and it was fragrance-free which was awesome, but I have an oily scalp and I feel like this didn't clean my hair enough and it just didn't do what I needed it to. When it comes to wearing my hair curly I found that my roots are constantly getting so oily whereas the rest of my hair is dry, and I feel like this almost made it a little bit worse. I almost like it better as a barely efficacious body cleanser versus a shampoo. For my scalp this was just a no, and I'm not going to buy this again."

"I'm currently using these from The Ordinary shampoo and conditioner. But so far, no seagar. When it comes to shampoos and conditioners, I might consider putting a couple drops of peppermint oil into the shampoo to see if that does anything because I really think that this ordinary shampoo lends itself well to adding things to it."
