What the gurus are saying

The experts who tested it found it fell short of what they'd expect from the brand. Both gurus who weighed in encountered the same core issues: the formula was thick and difficult to blend smoothly into skin, and it left a noticeable white cast regardless of skin tone. That thickness means anyone hoping for an easy daily application may want to look elsewhere, especially since mineral sunscreens already tend to be heavier than their chemical counterparts.

"I have no interest in even trying this formula because it's a chemical-based. And I don't use chemical sunscreens. I only use mineral. And I know they used to have two mineral formulations that they discontinued many years ago and those were flops. Honestly, they were so thick and hard to blend into the skin and left a pretty white cast on the skin no matter what skin tone you had. And then to have found out that they released this and a chemical formulation, I thought they could have done better. Maybe something that is tinted, a better mineral formulation."

"The Ordinary don't know how to make sunscreens. That was my thinking when I tried the first Ordinary sunscreen back in 2018-19. The mineral sunscreen and I hated every bit of it. And by that time remember ki mujhe Ordinary ke kaafi products already pasand aa gaye the. I was a kind of a fan of The Ordinary. And when I tried their sunscreen I was like they have messed it up. This should never make it again."
