"I remember trying their original formulation and I was so disappointed. The shades were really difficult to find a proper match for your skin tone. It also made my skin look super dry and old looking. It was a terrible formulation."

"They also launched or relaunched their serum foundations this year. I'm going to put this in the M tier. Some people like them and I know some people were so thrilled to see the serum foundations back, but they've actually had a bit of a reformulation and people saying it's not quite as good as the original serum foundations from two years ago. So the people that loved it and were really excited for it to come back have been left a bit like, maybe it's still fine, but it's not as good. And there a whole host of people that just said it's awful and I don't like this, I don't like the product. The criticism I see a lot online is that the colors oxidize, so they always end up a little orangier than maybe they looked in the bottle or when you first applied it. I've tried the original ones and that was my experience. It wasn't great. I think it's just like, why are The Ordinary trying to spread themselves thinly and doing makeup instead of just focusing down on skincare, which is really their core bread and butter. Some people might be happy to see it back but a lot were disappointed it's not back in the exact same formulation as they had before. This one's polarized."
