"With this you're going to see lots of hydration but not enough tyrosines to help with hyperpigmentation of the skin of color, maybe a little bit of improvement on skin tone evenness. You're going to see an improved skin barrier but nothing in here really to improve congestion. However, I like it as a hydrating mildly brightening serum. It's good to know there are better options on the market for this price, for example from the ordinary itself it's got salicylic acid plus alpha arbutin which are going to give you better results."

"This is a twenty dollar serum from The Ordinary, the Balancing and Clarifying Serum, with seven active ingredients targeting oily and acne prone skin. I have a dry and acne prone skin type so I wasn't sure how this would go for me, but I am super happy to report that at about six weeks of using this I feel like it's helped me keep my acne at bay in a very gentle way. It has a thicker consistency so a little goes a long way. None of the ingredients are harsh and yet they all help with acne, and together you get seven times the gentle potency against acne. Overall I do like this, as a person with acne it's so much better to focus on these kind of calming, hydrating products than on harsh acne attacking products, because those can end up damaging your skin and creating a much worse situation."

This is a win-win for short-term wins and long-term payoffs. After a couple of weeks I've been completely won over. You get some really great immediate results. [...] It's a nice watery serum that blends straight in. It's not oily at all, so as oily folk we don't need extra oil applied to the skin, and this is beautiful in terms of how it applies. The only thing I wouldn't use this with is the Milky Toner from The Ordinary, so I'd say use this on a morning and the Milky Toner on an evening or vice versa, or use one or the other, because they both contain niacinamide and I think you might be overloading the skin."

"It really did help to clarify my skin and keep it balanced. It really did help to reduce on the shininess and the oil that can accumulate during the day.
