"The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, I just don't think it's worth the hassle. It was a viral product on YouTube and was kind of being sold as like an at-home chemical peel. My issue isn't that it's too strong or people misuse it, my issue is that I just don't feel like it made a big difference for me. My own personal skincare philosophy stops me using this because I just don't see the point anymore of doing such a strong exfoliation at home once off every so often if I'm just regularly exfoliating. I just don't think it's a necessary product nowadays. When everyone was into their really high actives, I think it was interesting and we were all so obsessed with it and we always felt like we needed those strong percentages in order to get effective results. "You only need a thin layer. Your skin doesn't have to be super dark red. The first thing that I notice is the brightness of my face. I just feel like my skin looks more refreshed. My forehead has like a sheen to it. It really improved texture right off the bat and I just have this nice refreshed appearance to my skin. Sales have literally fallen off a cliff. A lot of countries have just outright banned this product, it's been banned for a whole long time in Canada, but that ban has extended to Australia and certain European countries. Countries are tightening their restrictions on what's allowed in terms of strength and percentage, and a product of super high strength like this one just isn't allowed anymore."

"This is a fragrance-free option that I rely on and share with clients. You can start off with 1 minute before you do all 10. This actually gives you results, skin looks clearer, more fresh, glowy, hydrated. It helps with blackheads and acne because of that BHA, and especially if you do this regularly over time it can really help with skin resurfacing. I struggled with bad acne for so many years, and I do think it's because of treatments I've done including chemical peels including this one for the past 3 years almost non-stop that my acne scars do not look as indented or as obvious as they could be. Layering The Ordinary: Pigmentation Magic or Just Marketing?

"If you've been using this regime for 2-3 weeks or 3-4 weeks and you're seeing improvement in pigmentation but you want that to move faster, then you need to be using a chemical exfoliant. You can use the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 2 to 3 times a week after cleansing. You want to use 5 drops of the serum, spread evenly around the face, making sure that you only leave it on initially for a few minutes and then slowly progress to a little bit longer. Then you cleanse that off and continue your routine. You want to do that 2 or 3 times a week because you want to be peeling those layers, especially if your pigmentation is deeper. If you press down on the pigmentation and it doesn't go, that means the pigmentation is deeper and you need to be using these exfoliants so that you can slot it in quite nicely within your regime really easily. Always check for conflicts on The Ordinary website in terms of mixing those things, but you can use it directly after the cleanser and then cleanse it off and then you can continue with your other products."

"The AHA BHA peeling solution does peel. It has 30% AHAs so it has a combination of lactic and glycolic but mostly glycolic. Glycolic is a very small molecule, it's an alpha hydroxy acid but it can penetrate into the skin a little bit more deeply. It's supposed to help with collagen production as well as exfoliation. But this is a very intense formula. I haven't used this in a while to be perfectly honest because my skin's been a little bit irritated and I've had to back off my exfoliation routine a little bit. If you want a great resurfacing treatment and you're very experienced with chemical exfoliants, you know how your skin is going to react to glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid, this could be a great solution for you at a really reasonable price. But quick reminder with all the exfoliants you need to do a patch test and you also need to wear your SPF."
