What the gurus are saying

The experts who reviewed it praise the formula as an excellent entry point for anyone new to tranexamic acid, since the 2% concentration is gentle enough to avoid the dryness and barrier damage that higher strengths can cause. Gurus found it effective at blocking excess pigmentation and soothing discoloration without exfoliating, and note that consistency matters; those with dark spots or post-acne marks may want to use it daily and give it time to show results. One expert flagged the gel texture and fragrance-free formulation as bonuses for the price.

"This is a product that is really, really good and it's extremely beginner friendly. It contains 2% tranexamic acid, a little bit of vitamin C as a derivative form, so it's not a direct vitamin C like ascorbic acid, and saiberry extract which is also an antioxidant. It has a gel cream texture and it's an overnight treatment. I will always recommend tranexamic acid 2% if you are someone who is just starting out their journey with tranexamic acid, because higher concentrations of tranexamic acid can destroy your skin barrier causing dryness and acne, or your skin can become internally dehydrated, which makes it appear darker. That is why you have got to be careful when you are dealing with a high concentration tranexamic acid. But this Inkey List one is really good."

"I do like the one from The Inkey List, this is a serum I was using this when I was experiencing post acne marks back in the past. Tranexamic acid doesn't exfoliate the skin, it helps to block excess pigmentation and it also helps to soothe the skin. This ingredient really is underrated. You might hear the odd person talking about tranexamic acid but I don't hear it enough and I feel like it deserves more hype because it really is beneficial for those that are struggling with dark spots and discoloration. This can be used on a daily basis, especially depending on skin tolerance, but the more consistent you are with this ingredient specifically you will see results."

"The fifth ingredient in here is tranexamic acid so it's at 2% so it's in the therapeutic index. It's coming out very gel-like, this is fragrance free, it's actually relatively cheap, it's a beautiful effective formula for early hyperpigmentation so this is very nice as your first line."
