It's a very lightweight oil that naturally occurs in our skin and can be essential for hydration. You can put your serums on and then if you're really serum-based and you want to repair your skin barrier without having so many creams on, you can put your squalane on afterwards and it's fantastic for locking in the moisture. You can incorporate squalane into your slugging protocol as well. Just remember to make sure that the squalane in your products is sourced from plant-based rather than animal-based sources, since squalane was previously derived from shark livers, which isn't humane."

"The Inkey List also has a Squalane Oil that I really like because it's nice and lightweight. However, if you have lackluster dull skin, I wouldn't recommend that oil because it adds a bit of glowiness but it doesn't necessarily help with just that dullness that we sometimes see in skin. It's like something could still be dull if you add a layer of oil on top. The Squalane Oil does absorb quite nicely, but when deciding between the Squalane Oil and the CoQ10, the CoQ10 wins hands down."
