What the gurus are saying

This moisturizer divides reviewers on texture. One dermatologist found it initially heavy and perceptible on skin but grew to appreciate it for morning use under sunscreen, while another reviewer found it disappointing overall. The tactile feel (noticeable rather than absorbed) is the defining trait, so anyone sensitive to how products feel on their face may want to test it first.

"When I first tried it, I didn't like the texture at all. It's something you apply and can feel sitting on your skin. It's not greasy, but it's like it is there. But right now, and preferences change in skincare, I enjoy it because I use it in the mornings underneath my sunscreen and I bike to work. With the cold winds, that can be a little trying on the skin, and I feel it helps my skin stay protected during this part, and that wears off when the day gets warmer."

"This is The INKEY List Symbi Moisturizer. When I first tried it, I kind of wanted to love it, but I ended up just kind of disappointed. This is a brightening moisturizer, and it's got this patented ingredient, and then they've put glitter in it. I'm like, bruh, if I wanted my face to be glittery, I would just put on makeup. I would just put on a glitter primer. Why do I need to put glitter and mica in my moisturizer? I find that it also doesn't moisturize the skin a ton."

"If you do want something that's a little bit more viscous, if you are looking for a moisturizer, the turmeric moisturizer—I feel like people have been sleeping on this. Turmeric in general is fantastic. [...] For the skin, there are actually studies that show that it helps with luminosity, with brightness, and even with hyperpigmentation. [...] The entire industry has been sleeping on it and there aren't a lot of brands that have really great turmeric products."
