I was initially hesitant about the dewy name, but the glow it leaves is very subtle, strongest right after application, and dries down to skin that just looks hydrated, something I can get on board with. I used it morning and night after cleansing and before my serum, as well as during the day as a pick me up. It didn't drench the skin in moisture but felt refreshing, like a good sip from a water bottle during the day. The highlighted ingredients are Hydrovon Insta, a cucumber extract based moisturizer meant to support filaggrin production and boost the skin's natural moisturizing factors, Aquaxyl, a sugar complex that binds water and is said to strengthen the skin barrier, and Earth Marine Water, a thermal water said to remineralize, reduce oxidative stress and calm inflammation, claims worth noting even if taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. The formula also contains glycerin, which comes in second in the ingredient list, and a low concentration of lactic acid that probably just buffers the formula rather than exfoliating. It is not a must have for your skincare routine if you prefer to go minimal. It offers an extra hydration step, either in your regular morning or night routine or as a pick me up during the day, and can easily be used on top of makeup without disrupting it, but on its own it won't be enough to combat dryness. Whether there are real long term beneficial effects on skin hydration, as the manufacturer claims, is something I can't say, but if your routine feels like it's missing that extra hit of lightweight moisture, this could be a simple, satisfying way to fill the gap."
