What the gurus are saying

This mineral sunscreen earns consistent praise for its lightweight feel, lack of greasiness on reapplication, and flattering subtle tint that works beautifully as a first morning layer. However, the tint reads noticeably on deeper skin tones and can catch in facial hair and brows, so it works best for lighter to medium complexions. Gurus also note the price is steep at around $60 to $64, though the reformulated packaging is a major improvement over the original, which flaked and peeled.

"I like this option because it's not too tinted. It gives your skin kind of a glow, but you can still apply it liberally and apply a nice setting powder and it still looks great. It feels really nice on your skin, lightweight, there's no scent to it. It is on the pricey side, so that's the biggest downside, but this has to be probably one of my favorites for a nice tinted sunscreen, and it's really friendly for sensitive skin as well."

"The Tatcha Silk Sunscreen, it's expensive and they finally repackaged it because the old packaging had issues with flaking off and getting on your hands. This one uses 10% zinc oxide. It's really nice, it's a lovely sunscreen. It has a little bit of a tint to it so you can get away with just setting it with powder and going for the day. It is expensive, but I do love this. This is probably one of my favorite mineral sunscreens."

"It's really elegant and it feels really nice on the skin and it looks really nice on the skin. It has no scent, it really feels nice on your skin, and it's actually enjoyable to wear. I'm glad they finally fixed the packaging because everyone was having issues with it cracking and peeling and then flaking. It is expensive, it's $64, it's stupidly expensive, but otherwise this is an amazing product. I absolutely love it."

"This is probably the most luxurious sunscreen. I really enjoy it. There's a lot of other great sunscreens that I love, but if I had to pick one with no price tag in mind, this would be one of them. It's really nice, there's no fragrance in it, it's got a really nice silky texture to it. I don't use this daily, more like if it's very hot, very sunny, or I'll be out sweating or swimming, things like that. It does have some alcohol in it, so I can use it like two or three days in a row and I'm good, but if I use it four, five, six, seven days or more straight, then my skin starts to get dry at the end of the day."

"The Tatcha Silk Sunscreen is great, but the Tatcha one in the blue bottle that's I think a hybrid too and that one's pretty friendly if you don't like a shiny finish."
My Favorite New Sunscreens from 2023
"This one is so hydrating. The packaging is just awful. It's got a slight tint to it, zinc oxide 10%, so it's got a slight tint to it and very hydrating, great for these dry days. I really enjoy the sunscreen itself. I hate the packaging, I hate the price of it, but I really love the formula."
Luxe Skincare Products Worth the Money - Pricey Beauty Products I Love!
"The Tatcha Silk Sunscreen, it's 62 bucks. I really enjoy it. The packaging's a mess, it falls apart, people use tape over it, but I dig the formula. I love it. It's super lightweight, it's fragrance-free, it's a mineral sunscreen but it applies so transparently and it just feels lightly hydrating so it doesn't really feel like you've got a sunscreen on. It's invisible enough but it gives your skin just a little bit of evening out. Usually when I use this one I just put powder on over it and go with it. Even though it really doesn't have much of a color, it just has a little bit of pigment in there to even it out and make your skin look nice and bright. It's expensive, the packaging's a mess, but it's a really good product."
Brands My Skin Hates and Why - No-Go Skincare Products
"Their silk sunscreen is really nice. That sunscreen is really nice, but again, it's really really expensive and there's a lot of K beauty sunscreens that I really would like to use as opposed to that."
Expensive Skincare Products & Best Affordable Alternatives! SkinMedica, NIOD, Lancome, Tatcha & More
"The Tatcha Silk Sunscreen, I absolutely love this stuff. It's now $64, which is a lot of money for sunscreen, especially when you're applying it liberally and if you're applying it properly a bottle like this should probably last you maybe about a month. It is bigger than it looks though, it's 1.7 oz. The Tatcha has a really nice friendly tint that in my opinion will work well for most skin types. If you can afford the Tatcha and you like it, go for it."
My Best Ulta Purchases in the Last Year - Favorite Skincare & Beauty Products From Ulta
"It contains zinc oxide and vitamin E, visibil, [allantoin] silk extract. It's fragrance free. This is probably my third bottle of it. In the winter and when I'm not out for very long and my skin is very dry, this one's a really nice sunscreen. It has a little bit of a tint to it. Leaves skin feeling nice and soft, a radiant finish. Very nice for when your skin is dry. In the summer, it's a bit much in terms of hydration, but in the winter when I'm not out a ton and my skin is dry, this one's pretty nice."

"I also finished up Tatcha's Silk Sunscreen. This is their reformulation. Definitely love this, highly recommend it. Not sure it's going to be on repurchase because there are so many beautiful mineral sunscreens out there right now, and I know some of them have the beautiful salicylate. There's just so much competition out there for beautiful sunscreens, tinted and untinted. This has a slight tint to it, but doesn't seem to interfere with my tinted serums."

"This is an SPF 50 mineral sunscreen and it does not pill, which is so exciting because I was so disappointed in the original formula it pilled terribly and the packaging the lettering on the packaging would just slip and slide off. This one doesn't do any of that. Absolutely loving it, even though it is on the expensive side, it is one of the best mineral sunscreens that I've found in 2024."
WINTER SKINCARE PLAN: Get the Best Skin of Your Life Over 50
"I tend to lean toward mineral formulas, so I'll be finishing up my Tatcha. It has kind of a pinky tint to it, and it's a mineral formula. I like to hedge my bets in the winter in case my skin barrier gets a little bit compromised, and stick to mineral formulas."

"I'm always babbling on about the Tatcha Silk Sunscreen. Not one of the most inexpensive ones, but it is absolutely beautiful, especially if you're close to my skin tone. It has a slightly pink tint. So if you have warm tones to your skin, this may not work for you. But I have a little bit of pink in my skin, so this works perfectly for my skin tone."

"The last step in my routine this morning is going to be sunscreen. I'm loving the Tatcha Silk Sunscreen. This is their reformulation and I absolutely love it. I was so skeptical after their first bomb with their first release of the silk mineral sunscreen, but this is fantastic. It does leave a very slight white cast, but it's so slight it really doesn't show up on my skin tone, but it might if you have a darker skin tone."

"The Tatcha Silk Sunscreen has a really flattering tint. A lot of tints are too dark for my skin, but this one is just very lightly tinted and I really like how this goes on."

"I can apply this throughout the day, regularly, every 2 hours, or however much I need to apply it, without it getting greasy, without pilling up on top of each other. The only thing is, it is zinc. It's slightly tinted. It gets caught up in my facial hair, eyebrows, hairline. If you're any darker than me, this is gonna show up on your skin like crazy. They say it's sheer. It's not. But as a first step in the morning, I'm really, really enjoying this. Do I think you need to run out and purchase it? No, I think there are better mineral sunscreens. But as far as a sunscreen that's really popular on TikTok and that people non stop talking about, it's a really, really nice one. I do not think you all need to run out and buy it. Tatcha's overpriced. Usually, anyway. It is one of the nicer mineral sunscreens. But unless you're white to this kind of tan, it's not going to be good for you. It's not the best to reapply, but it does feel nice as your first sunscreen application in the day."

"Tatcha has their Silk Sunscreen SPF 50, it is a weightless mineral sunscreen and finally they changed the packaging, their previous packaging was a disaster and it is so much better than their old old one, it is night and day. It does have hyaluronic acid for those of you who are wondering, and it retails for 64 bucks."
