What the gurus are saying

Gurus split sharply on this product. Fans praise its portability and versatility as a multi-use balm for lips, dry patches, and hands, plus its secure packaging that won't spill in a bag. The consistent complaint is the high price and difficulty dispensing product from the stick. One reviewer found the solid format simply doesn't work for her skin and disliked the appearance on lips and cheeks.

"I've decided that solid skincare just doesn't work for me. The solid stick by Tatcha, this is their serum stick. It's hard to get out. And it's just not pretty at all. It's not pretty on my lips. It's not pretty on my cheeks. Super disappointing."

"I like to keep this one in my purse because I'll put it on my lips or sometimes if I get a dry patch during the day, I'll just apply it there. It's a nice multi-purpose lip balm, basically what I use it for. It is kind of heavy for packaging, but it's nice. There's no scent to it. And the nice thing is it locks in there. A lot of lip balms can open up while they're in your bag sometimes on accident, or sometimes if it's a gel it can make a little bit of a mess. This has never made a mess and it stays locked in pretty good. Although it's really expensive, I think it's like 40 bucks. I don't think I would have spent 40 bucks on it again, but I liked it enough to keep using it."

"The Tatcha serum stick is 49 bucks. I typically carry this one in my purse because it works nice as a lip balm. It also works nicely to even out skin tones or dry patches. Sometimes I'm out all day and I don't get home until late and then I notice a little bit of dryness or something like that or on my hands or patches on my face and I'll use this. You can also use it as a lip balm so it's very nice. It is expensive but overall it's a nice multi-use product and I don't like to carry lotions and things like that around with me because it's just another thing to carry around and your bag's already heavy enough so this one does the trick for that. It's got rice bran, vitamin E, squalane. Nice multitasking product."

"What I like about this one is I leave it in my purse so if I use it as a lip balm that's what I'm wearing right now on my lips, or if I need something because my back of my hand got dry or if I get like an itchy patch somewhere or my neck gets dry I can put this on and it's really nice. It's really one product that is a multi-purpose product so I can leave it in my purse and instead of having to worry about carrying a lotion a lip balm and a moisturizer, this does it all. It's really expensive normally and it's still expensive, but there's a lot of other similar type products but this one I really do enjoy from them."
