"It's got niacinamide, likely at about 2% to 3% based on the ingredients list. They added in something called Hadasei 3, which is their proprietary blend of fermented algae, rice, green tea, and Akoya pearl powder. Yes to the niacinamide, the percentage is correct and is useful for the barrier, but it's sub-therapeutic for pigment intervention. It's not going to brighten at the under eye area. Hadasei 3 is brand marketing and the in vivo evidence is thin. The pearl powder is optical brightening, so it's basically just mica reflecting light. It's not the actual chemistry of the skin changing. So once you wash it off, it's gone. And then unfortunately in this product is a sensitizer cluster. They put in fragrance, linalool, limonene, which is just a disaster for skin of color because it can lead to contact dermatitis and lead to more pigmentation. On thin orbital skin of color around the eye, this can lead to long-term issues. This product gets a three out of 10 at £60 from Sephora."
