What the gurus are saying

Experts praise it as a pure mineral option that works well for sensitive skin like rosacea, with iron oxides that shield against visible and blue light. The matte, blurring finish suits those with oily skin or anyone wanting a makeup primer effect, though the tint can read quite pale and the matteness varies by season. Those finding it too drying in winter may want to layer a moisturizer underneath first.

"What I like about it is that it's pure mineral sunscreen. For those with rosacea, it will be a little bit easier on that super sensitive skin. This one's going to be very mattifying, a little bit more blurring, better for a little bit lighter skin types or those who are really oily and want something that is more mattifying or as a makeup primer. By itself right now in the summer it makes me a little bit lighter than I'd like to be, so you're going to have to add a bronzer or something to it because it's a tinted sunscreen. It has the iron oxide, so it's going to do a really good job at protecting from that visible light and blue light. It is non-comedogenic."

"The cast on this is not bad at all, especially when you compare it to the CeraVe one, and it is slightly tinted which makes it a lot easier to blend into the skin. However, you might find that it's a little too matte for me, and you might find that during more parts of the year than others like in the summer time you might be like ah this is all right, but in the winter time you might be like damn I look like a keeper. Some sunscreens can be moisturizing enough on their own where you won't need to apply a moisturizer underneath, however if you find that you're like damn this is looking kind of matte, then you might want to apply a moisturizer first."
