What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tested it flagged a practical catch: spray sunscreen mists don't give even coverage if simply misted on, so those using it need to spray into their hand first and then rub it in (and avoid breathing in the spray). The formula does contain alcohol, which means anyone with sensitive skin may find it slightly irritating, though the SPF 45 itself is a solid strength. One expert noted the real challenge is finding a reapplication mist that skips alcohol, stays non-greasy, and holds a high SPF all at once.

"The deal with these mists is they're kind of spotty in terms of the adequacy of the coverage and you actually have to spray them into your hand and then rub them in. When I tell people that they're under the impression that they can just mist these on their face and they don't have to touch their face but unfortunately you do have to rub them in. Make sure you don't inhale when you use them."

"I use the sunbum one. My issue is again I have sensitive skin but so I prefer looking for reapplication mists that don't have alcohol in it but it's really difficult to find one without alcohol that's also not greasy and has a high SPF. Unfortunately this does have alcohol in it. It's slightly annoying but like it is SPF 45."
