What the gurus are saying

This mineral sunscreen's standout strength is how seamlessly it sits under makeup without pilling or compromising foundation, which keeps experts reaching for it as their go-to. The lightweight, milky texture absorbs nicely and leaves a natural finish that works bare-faced or layered. One thing to keep in mind: it's not water resistant and can feel drying on its own, so pairing it with a moisturizer underneath may help, though most find the slight white cast minimal and easy to work with once foundation goes on top.

"The Summer Fridays Shade Drops SPF 30 is a mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide. It does have a little bit of a white cast but it's not terribly so. It smooths in the skin really nicely and feels nice. Once it soaks in it has a little bit of reflectiveness but once you apply foundation over it it really is nice. We've got lots of nice hydrate ingredients, we've got glycerin in here, we've got shea butter, vitamin E, no scent to it. Really nice product."

"I also went in with my Summer Fridays Shade Drops Mineral Milk Sunscreen. This is my favorite sunscreen, especially under makeup. Sunscreen is a hit or miss for me when it comes to going under makeup because I find that a lot of sunscreens can pill underneath makeup. This one I've never had a bad experience with. I feel like it definitely prepped the skin."

"This is the Summer Fridays Shade Drops. This has that milky serum texture that absorbs really nicely, it's lightweight, it's moisturizing, and it has a zinc oxide of 99.4%. I love this. Both of them work really well underneath makeup."

"A really great mineral or inorganic option is the Summer Fridays Shade Drops Mineral Milk Sunscreen."

"The Summer Fridays Shade Drops SPF 30 is a zinc-based non-water resistant sunscreen that comes out as a very thin liquidy milk and I just love how lightweight it is. I do like to wear a moisturizer underneath because it can be pretty drying if worn on its own, but I really love how it rubs into the skin. The finish on this is quite natural so you're not really dewy or glossy but it's also not a matte finish, and that's why I like it because you can kind of wear it on its own, you could wear it under makeup which I do a lot, and it's actually pretty easy to reapply and that's pretty hard to find in a mineral sunscreen."
