What the gurus are saying

Gurus agree spearmint tea is safe and tasty with no significant side effects. The core split is whether it actually works: some cite studies suggesting it may help with hormonal acne, particularly in people with PCOS, while others report no personal results for facial hair or acne after months of daily consumption. The consensus leans cautious, evidence exists but is thin, and real-world outcomes vary.

"I decided to consume spearmint tea daily and I did so for approximately 5 months and no change in the rogue chin hair for me. All I can say from my personal anecdotal experience is that spearmint tea tastes amazing but did not change the trajectory of my rogue chin hair growth journey. Consuming spearmint tea may potentially have more of a meaningful impact for women who have PCOS, since the hormonal component is a driving factor for their acne, whereas it might be more impressive for someone who has PCOS versus someone who does not. I would not take this one small study and completely change the acne guidelines based on this."

Stop Facial Hair Growth And Acne By Drinking Spearmint Tea
"Spearmint tea is just a beverage, and by and large, no, it's not bad for you, you shouldn't avoid it, it's not dangerous. It is considered safe to consume and has a very favorable side effect profile, there really aren't any significant adverse effects that you might experience. That said, we don't have sufficient data on whether spearmint tea works the way it allegedly does. Perhaps if it does work, it might actually be more impressive for someone who has PCOS versus someone who does not."

All I can say from my personal anecdotal experience is that spearmint tea tastes amazing but did not change the trajectory of my rogue chin hair growth journey. Spearmint tea may potentially have more of a meaningful impact for women who have PCOS, since hyperandrogenism is part of their condition and that hormonal component is a driving factor for their acne, whereas Androgen hormones play a role in acne for everyone. Perhaps if spearmint tea does work the way it allegedly does, it might actually be more impressive for someone who has PCOS versus someone who does not. That being said, spearmint tea is safe to consume. It is considered safe, it has a very favorable side effect profile, and there really aren't any significant adverse effects."

"It's super simple, it's spearmint tea. It tastes really good. I've heard it kind of tastes like you're drinking toothpaste but I'm not mad about that, it's okay. I really like it, it's refreshing. You're supposed to do it twice a day, two cups, and I just get this at my local grocery store, super cheap and easy. It is good for hormonal acne. There are studies showing that spearmint tea, drinking two cups a day, can help with the androgens involved with jawline acne. I bring a cup of spearmint tea to work every day."
