What the gurus are saying

Papaya enzymes and salicylic acid make this toner work as an effective exfoliant for breakout-prone skin and buildup. The blend includes witch hazel as an astringent and peppermint, which numbs irritation when skin is inflamed or picked at. That said, peppermint and tea tree can be irritating for sensitive skin, so those prone to reactivity may want to patch-test first or use it just a few times a week.

"I'd give this a 1.5 hydration level, pretty similar to the other one. Compared to western products, Korean products are usually more mild, so I didn't see that much miracle from this one. But even though the name is like a pretty aggressive miracle toner, it's more appealing to many people, which means it's pretty safe."

"If you have oily combo skin and you're under twenty and looking for a really light waterlike toner, this one wins. If you just want an easy peasy everyday toner, this is still amazing."
Are These Popular Viral Toners Actually Good? | Tier List
"This has AHA, BHA and PHA in it, so if you react to one of those it's not good, be careful if you have sensitive skin. It's pretty strong at first, but your face gets used to it kind of quickly. I kind of like it, I pair it with western products. It's gentle enough for regular exfoliation. It's very smart to call it the 30 Days Miracle Toner, because 30 days is the cycle for your skin to make new cells, though the results are temporary. You can also use it on your body if you get pimples around your chest or back. For my dry, mature skin I'm not going to use it, but it's a well-made product."
100% HONEST TikTok viral trending TONERS REVIEW // rec for every skin type
"This one is pretty popular too, a little less affordable than the Toko toner. It became popular on social media because it's an AHA toner, which isn't that common in K-beauty, that's more of a Paula's Choice or Western brand thing, and it's a really watery toner. But it smells so strong, so minty, like an old man's cosmetic. Even though you're just putting this on, it gets rid of some dead skin cells. If you're sensitive or have a lot of redness, skip it, it's not for you. But if you're combo or dry skin, try this. I use a cotton pad made of rayon, thinner than a regular cotton pad, so you get more product on it even with a small amount. Gently wipe your entire face with the cotton pad, then leave it on your nose, and you can effectively and gently exfoliate doing this for about five minutes."
I tried VIRAL TIKTOK KOREAN SKINCARE products… a brutal and honest review(Not Sponsored)
"There are so many extreme reviews about this one, this is my third bottle, but I've also seen the opposite review where people say they broke out too much. People either love it or hate it, so keep that in mind. If you have sensitive skin, skip this, I only recommend it for oily and combo skin with acne and pores. The official website says sensitive skin is okay for this, but I don't think so, because it contains ingredients that remove dead skin cells and sebum, an AHA. If you're sensitive it might sting, and some people can break out because of it. The main ingredient is tea tree, which is amazing for acne prone skin. As someone with dry skin, I only use it about once a week for exfoliating instead, especially in summer, but otherwise I just use a much more hydrating toner."

Top 10 Korean products for glass skin | Best Korean Products of 2023
"The one range that singularly helps my acne is the Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle range. I have these toning pads and you get the moisturizer, this is absolutely fabulous. You can use it every single day with the AHA BHA PHA concentration. This is not like using an exfoliant, it will not dry your skin out. This moisturizer is going to calm and soothe your skin. I've had clients, I've had teenage clients, and their skin has completely cleared out. I think this is going to be the forever product. I know the product is very expensive, but I have tried to find alternatives and you can get an AHA BHA face wash from other companies, but this exact formula with centella with all of these ingredients, it is like an undeniable formula. I've not even found it in other Korean beauty brands. This is best of 2021, best of 2022, best of 2023 for acne, and there is one range you need to invest in it is this."

"I've used the AHA BHA Miracle cream before and I love it but I have never used the toner. This has papaya fruit extract which we know papaya enzymes can help to basically exfoliate the skin and remove gunk and buildup which can be beneficial for breakouts. This has witch hazel extract which can be kind of an astringent to the skin. This has lentil seed extract that's fantastic, lactobionic acid, peppermint and tea tree. Those could be irritating for some but peppermint is actually an analgesic in medicine meaning it helps to kill pain since sometimes when I be picking it be painful. This does have salicylic acid so this does appear to be a good acne toner."

"I have continued to use this one for years because it's an active toner that will help to deeply exfoliate using three different types of chemical exfoliant in a very lightweight easy application type product. I think it was the first product I ever found that had multiple exfoliants with PHA added that was still relatively gentle on the skin, and that's one of the main reasons I've loved this one. This has always been a gentle experience but does a good job of getting rid of all the dead skin cells and soothing irritation with some of the ingredients in that toner consistency that I rarely get to experience."

"That's one of those toners that I actually do really like. When it comes to toners, I'm kind of like, if it's just for hydration or things that you can get in other products, not really. But that toner has exfoliating ingredients and is great for oily skin, and I've personally used it a lot."

Products I Fell Out of Love With
"If you're someone who does like a toner and wants that exfoliation experience, there's the Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA toner, that one is awesome. It has a great blend of ingredients, I've talked about how much I love that one, and it's much less expensive than the SK-II one."

"This is a really decent exfoliating toner, one of the more gentle that I've used. The main exponents are the BHA which is salicylic acid, the PHA which is lactobionic acid, and the AHA which is papaya fruit extract, so it's really gentle. I prefer the lactobionic acid, the PHA, especially as I have rosacea because sometimes AHAs can wreak a little bit of havoc on my sensitive skin. This does have tea tree in which I love for my breakout-prone skin. We also have niacinamide which has acne-fighting benefits and skin-repairing benefits. There is some peppermint oil in here which I don't love, but my sensitive skin has never had an issue with this product. As far as gently exfoliating, evening out skin tone, reducing the appearance of enlarged pores, blackheads, and sebum production, this is a really really nice toner. I used to hate this and I don't know why, but I'm enjoying it now. If you're starting out with exfoliants or you just want a more gentle yet effective exfoliant, this is a really really good one to go for."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Source: DermNet

Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid dissolves in oil, so it can get into a pore rather than just working on the surface. That is why it has long-standing evidence for blackheads and milder acne.

Source: DermNet

Urea

Urea both holds water in the skin and gently loosens dead surface cells. At higher strengths it has good evidence for very dry or thickened skin.
