  • Scent can turn nauseating on skin
  • Small size for the price

What the gurus are saying

The scent smells lovely in the air but transforms unpredictably on skin, turning nauseating for some when it meets body chemistry. One expert loves it for low-key fragrance after the shower, while another found it pleasant enough but thin for the price compared to drugstore moisturizers that cost less and deliver more product. Best patch-tested first if you're sensitive to how fragrances shift on your skin.

"When it comes to body mists, I really love the Sol de Janeiro ones. I've used quite a few of them, but out of all of them, this is my favorite. And this is the Cherrosa 59. I got a sample kit that had all the popular ones. And this smells really good. So this is for like days when you're not going anywhere, like you've done your body care, you've come out of the shower, or even nighttime, you've done everything, but you want to smell like nice without going in with perfume."

"The 59 smells really good, but for whatever reason it doesn't smell as good on me as it smells. [...] The texture on this is really nice though. It's really [...] thick. But it doesn't smell like anything. And for such a small little bit of product, like you can get a good moisturizer from the drugstore that doesn't smell like anything that's going to be cheaper and you'll get more in the container."

Walmart Really TRIED IT with These Sol de Janeiro DUPES
"When I first tried the 59, I sprayed it in the air and loved how it smelled in the air, but hated how it smelled on me. It was nauseating once it mixed with my body chemistry. [...] I would probably go with the dupe because I already know what this has done to me before."
