"I am actually obsessed with it because it reminds me a lot of another really awesome and rich thick moisturizer for winter but without the hefty price tag. I also like that there's a lot of science behind it. This contains the 3.5% patented BL3 barrier lipid complex, which contains biomimetic lipids meaning ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids in the optimized golden ratio that helps your skin barrier stay really strong and hydrated. It also has vitamin B9 folic acid and vitamin E and signal peptides for skin cell regeneration, wound healing, and repair of cells. BL3 was found to improve barrier contents of ceramides and lipids as well as natural moisturizing factors and aquaporin three levels in the skin. Aquaporins are channels in your cell membrane that help facilitate water entry and movement in and out of cells, so it helps you maintain more hydrated skin and a better and more functional skin barrier. I really like the texture of this. It goes on really thick."

"Talking about traditional peptide moisturizers, do they work? Not really in the way people think. They are cell signalers typically. So you get the palmitoyl pentapeptide 4, tripeptides 1 and 7. Those peptides will pretty much give the text instructions to your fibroblast and skin cells to make more collagen in your dermis or second layer and does help with fine lines and wrinkles. If I were to rate peptide moisturizers in general about a 7.5 to 8 out of 10 in terms of anti-aging, I don't think it's going to be nearly as good as a retinoid, especially tretinoin or tazarotene that's prescription, but it will be a nice supplement to the anti-aging routine."

"I use this all winter long. It's very rich, it's moisturizing, it's barrier restorative. I knocked a star off of it because it's pretty pricey product for what it is, for the amount that you get, and it's not my year-round moisturizer. It's really only something that I've been gravitating towards in cold weather. They recently reformulated it within the last few years and I actually really like what they've done with the cream. "This is a pretty nice barrier strengthening moisturizer. The key ingredients include a 3% triple lipid complex with different forms of ceramides, sterols, and fatty acids. These are important crucial lipids that help restore your skin barrier, especially if it's weak or damaged or needs to stay strong in the face of aggressive actives like retinoids or even cold weather. They're also using a 3% peptide solution derived from rice bran, which is good for helping to strengthen the skin barrier and help your skin retain moisture. The only issue is the use of the word peptide itself. It's not really like very recognizable peptides in here. Marketing wise, they are cashing in on the fact that the word peptides usually infers anti-aging benefits."

"I'm really warming up to this, I'm really enjoying this. It's something that I think is really great and it's been helpful for me. This has been really helpful for me. My skin's been going through it this month and this really helped with the peely flaky irritation. I started using this one because it is so rich, it's so moisturizing. "This cream has really good absorbency, it's not sticky, it's not so watery that it's hard to apply to your skin. This is where this cream really shines, I think, for dry skin. It's incredibly rich, there's a lot of lipids in here, very very rich fatty acids, ceramides in here. It's all focused on building back your skin barrier, really working on soothing dry and flaky skin. It has a very moisturizing, rich, almost buttery-like texture to it. It's very very nourishing."

"This is an interesting texture because it is very buttery, it's very rich, but it's not thick. It's like if you whipped butter, you know, kind of gets fluffy. That's how this feels. And as you spread this onto your skin, it straight up melts into your skin. It's very luxurious. You really feel the oil content here. You feel that nourishing skin softening oil melting into your skin in this airy, fluffy, buttery texture. Very, very moisturizing. If you have dry, flaky skin, this will really soothe that very nicely. And because of the barrier strengthening lipids in here, it can be quite soothing to the skin as well. It does not feel occlusive though, so this is why I feel like this cream may not be the best for those who have dehydration. A little bit of occlusivity in a moisturizer actually helps to resist the dehydration process and helps to resist hydration deep within your skin escaping through the top layers. But if your skin is very dry, if it's very flaky, if it needs softening, if it needs a lot of richness and moisture, this is definitely the one."

"I take a glob of the SkinFix Barrier cream and pop it right on, and instantly I just have to hydrate it. I let this sit for as long as possible, and I put whatever's left over on my lips because my lips are really dry."
