What the gurus are saying

This adapalene gel delivers notable gentleness for a retinoid, with reviewers reporting a light texture and little to no dryness with daily use. They found it effective for both acne and anti-aging, though the 0.16% concentration is the minimum studied dose. At $48 for 1 ounce, it's expensive, and the price is the main hesitation, though early-adoption costs for a newly available active provide some context.

"The Skinfix Acne Adapenoid Gel is $48 at Sephora. It contains adapenoid, a newer retinoid ingredient that is a derivative of adapalene, a third generation retinoid. This stuff's great. If you have acne-prone skin it makes it really good for your skin. I found the adapenoid to be really gentle but effective. I use this a lot on my neck. Can't go wrong with it."

La Roche-Posay 🆕 New! Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil Review
"I picked up the SkinFix Acne+ Adapalene Gel with Niacinamide + Squalane and it's okay so far. I'm not over the moon, but I'll keep testing it because it's only been about a week and a half."
3rd Generation Retinoid?!? Skinfix acne+ adapinoid Gel with Niacinamide + Squalane Review & How to
"The only downside with this one is the price. This is one ounce and retails for 48 dollars, so it's expensive. I picked it up on SkinFix's website right when it launched and I got a 20 percent off coupon so it was a little bit more affordable, but still really expensive. But as adapalene becomes more popular there'll be more competition and it'll be more affordable when they're competing against each other to sell it. In terms of the it factor, it's everything I look for in products. It's new, it's innovative, new ingredient to test out and play with. I love it. It fits into my routine well and I'm looking forward to maybe anti-aging benefits from it. I've really been lucky with tretinoin, it's strong but I don't have the dryness and irritation that accompany it, but I'm looking forward to testing this one and seeing if it's all we think it is in terms of not drying skin out. Although this won't last that long because it's not the biggest bottle in the world, but very exciting nonetheless. With a 10 being a perfect score, this one a nine. My only real issue with it is the price, but being one of the first products I've seen with adapalene, they can probably charge whatever they want."
The Best Retinol Products This Year So Far - My Favorite Retinoids for Anti-Aging & Acne
"I went through it really fast because I was just loving it. I fit it in my routine every day. This one has a wonderful gel texture. It uses 0.16% adapalene retinoid in there. It's got vitamin E, peptide, and prickly pear extract. This was great for acne prone skin. I bought it more for fine lines and wrinkles, and it really did a nice job with that. No fragrance, no scent, nice packaging. They did a great job. If this ever went on sale, I'd pick it up again in a heartbeat."
Evening Skincare Routine - Anti-Aging & Acne Friendly Products - Dry & Sensitive Skin
"The SkinFix Acne+ Adapalene Gel has retinol in here and it's really nice. The packaging is nice and it's got a lotiony texture to it, so that's why I put a step in between the copper peptides and the growth factor serum. Hopefully the retinoid is far enough up in my routine that it won't degrade them but then less of it absorbs."
My Current Retinol / Retinoid Skincare Product Favorites - Fragrance Free!
"It's got a really nice texture to it, which is nice, and it's very gentle. I found it really friendly for acne-prone skin. It's got squalane in there as well and it's just a really unique product. The adapalene in itself is more prescribed or used for acne, but after using it for a couple years I do believe that one has anti-aging benefits. It's a little pricey, but so far very nice and I'm enjoying it."
Most Anticipated Products of the Year 🙌 Which Skincare Delivered on My Hype & What Disappointed
"Adapalene is a retinoid, and they studied it at a certain amount to show results. The SkinFix brand picked the absolutely lowest that was studied, and I think you'd probably get better results if they used a little bit more given the price. I really like trying out new ingredients and things like that, so I was happy to try this one out and get the adapalene retinoid in there. I wish they would have picked a higher amount, but overall it's a decent product. It's probably too expensive overall for what it is, but then again I don't know how much that retinoid as a raw material costs."
February Skincare & Beauty Product Empties - What I've Finished Up This Month - Beauty Trash
"I really like this. I like the fact that they're using new ingredients that really haven't been used a lot, so I really enjoy that. I give them the it factor for using that. Overall I really liked it. It was light, it was effective but not drying like some retinoid products can be, so I really enjoy this one. I definitely would purchase it in the future and recommend checking it out."

Prevent & Treat Breakouts - My Most Recommended Products for Acne Prone Skin Types
"I've been using this now, I use it more as kind of an anti-aging ingredient. I really like this one. It really didn't cause much dryness or anything like that. Some forms of retinol I've used that really caused my skin to get dry, this one didn't really cause any. It's really nice, super light texture. I think it's worth trying. It might be more expensive, but if you've tried the adapalene and you've tried other retinoids, you've tried bakuchi, all I think this one's worth a try if those weren't successful for you."
New Anti-Aging Skincare Ingredients Worth Trying - Best Ingredients for Fighting Wrinkles
"The first one is the SkinFix Acne+ Adapalene Gel with Niacinamide + Squalane, it's 48 bucks, a very nice product overall, and if you suffer from breakouts and things like that it's a nice option if you don't want to use differin, or if you've already used adapalene or looking to try something different."
Strongest Retinoids You Can Get 💪💗😍 My Favorite Retinols for Anti-Aging & Fighting Acne
"This one is fragrance-free. It's got a really nice gel texture to it. I really liked it. It was really nice. It contains 0.16% adapalene. It also contains vitamin E, PA protein, prickly pear extract, no fragrance in it. Really nice product. It's a little bit more expensive than the other two, but it's really nice. And it was ahead of the time when they released this. No other adapalene product that I'm aware of had been released yet. So this is still pretty new and it's still a pretty new ingredient because when it comes down to ingredients or products, I can only find still like a handful of them. There's not a ton of them out there."

"There's only one other product that I really know of that uses it and it is more affordable by a little bit, by about 20 bucks, and that's the SkinFix Acne+ Adapalene Gel with Niacinamide + Squalane. These both use adapalene so it doesn't save you a whole ton of money, but 20 bucks here and there, and especially if you suffer with acne and things like that, I think the SkinFix is worth checking out."

"It combines adapalene which is a great retinoid, it's great for breakouts as well as anti-aging. It's starting to show that it's great for anti-aging. This one's really nice. I really enjoy it. They say it's for acne prone skin but I used it just more as anti-aging and I really found it to be really efficient. [Paula's Choice] also has the only other adapalene product but it's almost double the price, so this one's a little bit more affordable."

"This one's also got adapalene which is great retinoid for anti-aging as well as fighting acne. I think its main purpose right now that's being marketed for is fighting acne but with my results in testing adapalene I find it to be anti-aging as well. It's also got niacinamide, squalane, vitamin E, and prickly pear extract. I love this product."
July Empties - Skincare & Beauty Products I've Finished This Month
"This is my second bottle of the Skinfix adapalene gel, and I really enjoy this stuff. They market it for acne prone skin, but I use it more for anti-aging because I find adapalene works great for me as an anti-aging product too. This stuff is wonderful, no scent, great product overall."

"I am baffled by the SkinFix Adapoid product. What they're saying is it's a precursor to adapalene, and I don't understand why this is a big deal, at least for those of us in the US, since we have adapalene over the counter, I buy it all the time. I still remain perplexed, but that's just me, I haven't tried it, I don't think I will."
