What the gurus are saying

The gurus who reviewed it praise this serum as a solid antioxidant choice that brightens skin and helps even out tone and discoloration. The combination of vitamin C, phloretin (derived from apple and fruit tree bark), and ferulic acid works together to neutralize free radicals and support cell turnover. One key difference from SkinCeuticals' C Ferulic: experts note this formula feels lighter and less greasy, which makes it especially suitable for those with oily or combination skin, while those with very dry skin may still prefer the richer C Ferulic instead.

"The SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF is 100% my jam. It is a potent antioxidant serum designed to protect against free radicals and environmental aggressors like pollution and UV rays. It will help even out skin tone, reduce discoloration, and enhance skin radiance. It's specifically formulated for more of an oily to combination skin, making it a great alternative to what I consider stinky C Ferulic, but if you have really dry skin, C Ferulic might be better for you. The key ingredients in this one are 2% Phloretin, which is derived from apples and the bark of fruit trees like pear and grapefruit. The Phloretin helps neutralize damaging free radicals, aids cell turnover, and improves the appearance of discoloration. This also has 10% pure vitamin C, which is L-ascorbic acid. This is a very potent antioxidant. It protects against oxidative stress, brightens the skin, provides visible anti-aging benefits. And it has 0.5% ferulic acid, which is a plant-based antioxidant that enhances the stability and efficacy of vitamin C and E while neutralizing free radicals."

"SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF has L-ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, and phloretin. SkinCeuticals works as you would expect. Vitamin C works so well not only because it's an antioxidant but also because ascorbic acid can interact with copper, it can grab onto it, and this is actually thought to be part of how it inhibits tyrosinase to reduce pigment."

"I am a big fan of the Phloretin CF which has the L-ascorbic acid at 10%. I also prefer the Phloretin CF gel which is a little bit more lightweight and evaporates more quickly and I recommend this a lot for my male patients because the C Ferulic can feel a little bit greasy sometimes on my skin or a little bit thick and oily. All three are amazing products."

"SkinCeuticals also has a really nice serum called the Phloretin CF where you've got 10% ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, plus you have phloretin so you have a different combination of antioxidants that are just so nice. I like that one a lot."
