What the gurus are saying

Gurus view this as a solid hydration product with good ingredients and versatile application. The main consensus centers on its effectiveness as a hydrating layer, particularly praised as a nighttime option to support retinoid use and reduce irritation. One reviewer noted the product may darken with age (possible oxidation), though the ingredient quality itself is affirmed. Community read is thin overall, but sentiment leans positive on performance and value.

"It's definitely vitamin C. It smells like vitamin C. The only thing I can't get over is when I get my Geek and Gorgeous vitamin C, it's clear, you know what I mean? This stuff, although I guess it was mailed to me in December so it's already a little old, so I guess I should give it some slack for that. But it's nice, it's fine. It's got good ingredients in it."

"SkinCeuticals has come out with a neuropeptide peptide serum called the P.T.O. serum, and I have patients on it, I use it, my wife uses it. It's a great way to not only increase collagen production, but it makes my fine lines and wrinkles on my forehead and around the eyes seem less apparent. Their whole technology is to mimic Botox, so when you have dynamic wrinkles from movement and expressions, you want to soften those, and this does help to some degree in decreasing the contraction. Do you need to be on Botox for this to work? No, you can just go ahead and use it without Botox and you can see benefits with it. I haven't used Botox in a long time, actually, and just the P.T.O., and I feel like it's really made me feel like I don't need Botox as readily. It can help complement or even extend the efficacy of your Botox, but if you're not on it, it will mimic it too. It's 158, 160 bucks for a dropper bottle, but it lasts a while because I only do it every other day."

"I love using this great for morning and evening but this would make a lovely nighttime moisturizer especially if you want to continue using your topical retinoid can add additional benefits or improve the dryness and irritation from topical retinoid use."
