You want to use your vitamin C serums probably in the first two to three months otherwise they'll start to oxidize and break down and become less potent. SkinCeuticals, I believe, did that Apple trick and showed that even if the color of the product changes it's still efficacious. But I always say try to keep your vitamin C serum in a cool area. You can even put it in the fridge if you wanted, but a cool area and not in the sunlight by the window sill."

This is probably some of the most expensive vitamin C you can buy, running about $185 for a bottle, but it is truly the gold standard when it comes to vitamin C. What I mean by it being the gold standard is SkinCeuticals did the original clinical trials on vitamin C and its efficacy with this exact formula. So when we make the generalization that vitamin C helps with collagen production and brightening of the skin, we are not actually saying that all vitamin C products do that; we are really saying that SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic does that and has proven to do so. This has 15% L-ascorbic acid, vitamin E, and ferulic acid, which is sort of the holy trinity of antioxidants. This was actually the first vitamin C that I ever used. I started using it in my 20s when I was a dermatology resident because they give you tons of products to try, and this one really stood out to me. In addition to having vitamin C in here in the form of tetrahexaldate, which is an oil-soluble form of vitamin C, this also has so many other antioxidants in it. It's a pricier vitamin C for sure, but I think it's not just a vitamin C. To me, this is a very comprehensive antioxidant serum."
