"The Tone Brightening Tone Up Sunscreen is a hybrid sunscreen combining organic and inorganic filters, claiming to brighten and tone the skin while offering UVA and UVB protection. It looks peachy on the website but is actually more of a light brown in person, with a lightweight texture and no scent. Using the correct amount, six pumps for face and neck, the product feels very comfortable on the skin but looks absolutely hideous, making me look ghostly, and I needed a lot of bronzer to wear it outside. Over the day the white pigment settled into my pores and made me look pale and patchy. It looked better with just one pump, but that wouldn't give the protection claimed on the bottle. The finish is more on the dewy side and the formula is comfortable to wear, not very hydrating but not drying either. The inorganic filter Titanium Dioxide is probably to blame for the white cast. It also contains Centella Asiatica Extract with Madecassoside, Niacinamide and Tranexamic Acid for brightening, and Glycerin for hydration. I actually expected to like this one best since it's a hybrid rather than a pure inorganic sunscreen and contains Tranexamic Acid, but I just can't bring myself to wear it. The hybrid Tone Brightening Tone Up Sunscreen is the worst, it has an awful white cast and settles into my pores, even though the texture is nice."

It's free of fragrance and essential oils, which I love, and it has such a unique ingredient profile, with tranexamic acid, niacinamide, centella, and sodium hyaluronate. But the tint comes from iron oxides and ends up making it a bit casty, to be frank. For that reason I think this sunscreen works best for people who have a paler skin type, in terms of avoiding the appearance of a white cast. If you have a deeper skin tone, I do think you'd be better off with the Hyalu-Cica one, that one leaves zero white cast."
