What the gurus are saying

A silky, lightweight texture that feels luxurious but never heavy or greasy earns consistent praise, and the cream layers seamlessly under sunscreen or works beautifully at night without suffocating the skin. The formula's slip makes it easy to massage upward strokes into the skin, which may help with absorption and a lifted appearance, and those with acne-prone or sensitive skin appreciate that it is non-comedogenic. Plant-derived actives like safflower red and ginseng are noted to help reduce fine lines and even skin tone.

"For moisturizer, my favorite has to be the Shiseido Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Advanced Cream. This is texture perfection. It seems quite dense and creamy, but when you apply it, it just turns into a really silky, elegant, refined cream. It doesn't sit heavily on the skin. In fact, it almost just smooths out into a very, very thin layer. It just feels weightless, yet at the same time it is moisturizing. I also love that it gives a little bit of tightness, which is very welcome. When I apply this, I use upward strokes until it completely sinks in, I feel that really helps, and wherever I can I am incorporating some massage. This feels so light for how moisturizing it is, so it's something I even use during the summer. This really targets the different signs of aging: fine lines, wrinkles, firmness, sagging, uneven skin tone. And the key ingredient in here, the safflower red, only exists in Japan."

"This is one of their bestselling moisturizers, and I can really see why. I find it to be actually very lightweight and silky. I actually used this through the summer and I felt it to be so comforting. I love applying this with upward strokes every time I use it, which I think does make a difference to helping everything look more lifted. It's the kind of moisturizer that not just feels so good when you're applying it on your skin, but actually makes the skin look good."
My Shiseido Skin Quiz Analysis & Routine!
"I have to say I do love the Shiseido moisturizers. I've tried a few of them and I actually was recommended the Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Advanced Cream. Using this reminds me how next level luxury Japanese moisturizers are just in terms of their texture and the whole experience of it all. This has a dense but lightest silk texture, but also it's got this intensity. It glides on my skin in a thin layer no matter how much I use. I only need a little bit. I love the subtle rose scent it has to it. Doesn't linger. My tip is apply this using upward strokes because I personally think that it makes a difference. My skin kind of stays lifted. This contains their proprietary forms MSK which is a melanin blocker and really helps with evening out the skin tone. Also contains their patented safflower red which is a medicinal plant as well as ginseng which you know I love. This has been shown to really reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, a brighter skin tone and even a tighter firmer appearance."

"It is really the ideal type for my skin in this sense. It's rich and nourishing. It's kind of this pillowy soft texture that's silky smooth, but it's not greasy, heavy, or occlusive. It doesn't make your face feel like it's suffocating. In fact, it's also non-comedogenic. So great even if you're a little bit more hormonally or acne prone, which sometimes we can get with changes in hormone with age as well. It's just perfect for nighttime use to help support our barrier when we sleep, but also light enough during the day and layers nicely under sunscreen. I also love that this moisturizer has a little bit of slip. So as you're applying, you can do a little bit of relaxing massage to not only support and lift, but also improve its absorption. The formulation combines traditional east medicine from the west and the science from the west. It utilizes a lot of plant derived ingredients that have strong history in Asia including safflower red which is a trademark ingredient from Japan grown exclusively in Japan to help lift, firm and make your skin tone more even."
