What the gurus are saying

This tool dries and styles in one step, which gurus say saves time and reduces heat damage because it works at lower temperatures than a traditional straightener or curling iron. Those who tested it praised how quickly it refreshes curls and how it shapes hair more smoothly when moving from damp to dry in a single pass, though one reviewer did not warm to it and suggested it may not suit everyone's preferences.

"I can't attest to the power of a $279.99 discounted price. Shark Beauty FlexStyle seems like a lot of money for heat styling, but it all depends. I can see it paying off if you use these tools and you find them to be like game changers. There is a lot of variation, but like I said, I've never put this through the test."

"I love this. It comes with different options. You can put on a hair dryer, you can put on a curling iron, you can put on a straightening thing. [...] I use this a lot. The Beachwave is probably my first go-to, but if my hair is damp at all, this is the one I use. This is what I styled this hair with two days ago."

"This is the Shark Beauty FlexStyle, but it's also a dryer and then it's got several different attachments or you can just make it a dryer. You can use it as a dryer, and it's got like five or six other different attachments. This one's normally I think $300 and now it's like $220. I love this when my hair is still wet in the morning that's one of my favorite curling irons, or my only curling iron hair iron that I use, and it's got these so it acts like a Dyson thing."

"If you are into the Dyson [...] knockoff, the Shark FlexStyle is 28% off. I reviewed that one and I did not love it, but I know a lot of people love it."

Is This $250 Styler BETTER Than $600 Dyson? Shark FlexStyle Vs Dyson Airwrap!
"The Shark does a basically similar job at drying and smoothing your hair compared to the Dyson, and you can save $350. However, I'm really unimpressed with the curling technology. The hot setting is way hotter than the Dyson's, which concerns me about heat damage over time. The cool shot button is hard to find and takes forever to actually get cool, which makes the whole process take so much longer. The curls fall out within 10 to 20 minutes. For rough blowouts and paddle brush drying, it's pretty comparable to the Dyson, but the process itself uses more heat and less air velocity, which isn't as nice to your hair. If you were never going to afford the Dyson and just want something that does a similar drying job, it's not bad, but it's not quite there yet as an equivalent alternative."

"Using this means that I can dry and style my hair at the same time. I usually let it air dry for maybe 45 minutes to an hour and then it takes me about 15 minutes to dry and curl my hair with this. I did this hair last night and then I slept with it in a ponytail and it is extremely extremely sweaty and humid today, so it's doing pretty well. This is my hair after 3 days in humid Sydney summer. And this again includes sleeping with it in just a ponytail. And usually, even if I do end up with messed up hair, I can usually refresh the curls really quickly, like less than 5 minutes. I mostly use the curl attachments, also the frizz flattening attachment. [...] It is also just really easy to use. The curl attachments are really nice because it's a lot easier than trying to consistently get similar size waves on both sides of my head with a hair straightener. It's also a lot smoother because styling it from damp to dry in the one step means that you get better shaping. It also doesn't need to be as hot as a straightener or a curling iron because it uses air and heat to dry, so it reduces the chance of bubble or popcorn hair."

"I've been holding out to buy this for years and years and years. Even though I was curious about it, I was like, I'm happy with my curling iron. But no, girl, I have the most fine, straight, and flat hair. So volume is everything. This one is a game changer because it has like all these curling attachments. It makes my hair look super poofy, voluminous, and also these curls last for another 2 days. And with curling irons, my curls did not last even a day. So for this, I'm very happy with my purchase. I shout to all my friends. I shout to all my team members about this Shark Flex Styler. I get a lot of compliments with my curls and my new hairstyles. So I've been really loving it."
