What the gurus are saying

This watery toner delivers deep hydration without heaviness, earning praise for layering multiple times without irritation. Its seawater, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and allantoin soothe dehydrated and sensitive skin, though the hyaluronic acid makes it slippery when applied directly. Applying with a cotton pad and wiping it out works better; dry to normal skin gets the most from it. Those with oily skin may want to skip it.

"I've recently been using their toner frequently, it's very hydrating. [...] The Dokdo toner is incredible, it's just a nice experience, especially when it's summer and the weather's hot and you just want some light hydration on your skin. It's got glycerin, aloe, water, soothing ingredients, really super great for a lightweight hydrating step."
Yay
"I did not want to include this one because it's more of an essence than a toner. One of the top ingredients here is C12-15 alkyl benzoate, a heavy hitter ingredient that helps with texture and moisture. It also has coconut alkanes, which is an occlusive that helps seal in moisture, and four types of hyaluronic acid, so it's going to be very well layered hydration for your skin. The texture is more of a rich milky sensation, so it'll feel more substantial than the others. This product will also be great for dry to normal skin types that want serious moisture plus barrier repair. So if you have oily skin, I would skip this one, but if your skin is dry and you want that rich milky essence formulation, this is your girl. This one is solid."

"I'm using this a lot with my customers. I feel it's okay, but if you apply it with a cotton swab and wipe it out, it works pretty well, because the hyaluronic acid in it makes it a little slippery. Wiped out that way, it definitely gives your skin hydration."

"For toners I've tried several of their toners and their Dokdo toner I went through so fast I loved it and I bought up a backup and then my friend ended up wanting to try it so I gave it to her because I liked it so much."

"The Round Lab Docto 1025 toner is one I've actually had my eye on when shopping around for Korean skin care. It's a water based toner that does not feel the least bit tacky or sticky and there's no viscosity to it, making it the perfect texture as the first step in your routine right after cleansing. It's not simply hydrating, it also provides a little bit of ever so gentle exfoliation through its moisture retaining properties, which helps loosen dead skin cells from the surface. It contains red algae, which is hydrating and loaded with antioxidants, polysaccharides for hydration, and sugarcane extract for additional moisturizing properties."

"Round Lab has a lot of really great hydrating moisturizing skincare products. This has Condos Crispus, which is a marine extract that's very hydrating, kind of hyaluronic acid adjacent, glycerin adjacent. It also has glycerin and proteases, okay, and an enzyme Allen toen that is soothing. Hydrating toners like this can be helpful after shaving instead of using something marketed as an aftershave. It actually is going to soothe and support the barrier through mostly probably the glycerin and the Condos Crispus."

5 Star Skincare Empties! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I've loved this toner for a really long time. I got the big size, and I was actually surprised to see this in my empties basket because I thought I'd already covered it in the last video, but it must have been my first empty after that video. It's a really simple, to-the-point type of toner, but that's what I like in skin care. Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner, another five out of five. I don't mess around with my toners, I know what I like, and this is one that I really like. I find this to be another simple, straightforward type of toner, but I do feel like this dives in just a little bit deeper, it's just a little bit more hydrating. It's really thin, watery, lightweight, quickly absorbed, but very great for my dehydrated skin."
Ranking 20 Top Selling Products at Olive Young!
"This is in my top 10 for sure, my top five. I love this toner. It has a texture that I think is going to work for a lot of different skin types, it's really easy to add into any type of routine. The texture is just really watery, it dives in deep, but the difference here is I find the hydration level to be a lot higher than Anua, and so for me this is my top toner pick, especially out of what is offered at YesStyle. It would be my number one hydrating, most hydrating toner pick out of what's available on their site."
Refreshing Toners for Summer
"I am very sensitive to exfoliation and I have to be careful about how I'm using it, how much I'm using it and how frequently I'm using it throughout my skincare routines. I can't tell you how many bottles of the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner I've been through where I'm layering it two, three, four times onto my skin in the morning and in the night time in the same day and then repeating it week after week after week after week and I've never had irritation. I've never even had the hint of overexfoliation or even any exfoliation quite honestly with this toner. It's a very light watery toner but it actually dives in deep and feels very, very replenishing, very very refreshing but not heavy. It's not sticky. Some toners can feel very plumping and very hydrating but sometimes they feel a little sticky on the skin, but this one isn't too bad even with multiple layers, and it doesn't form a film."
Melt the Day Away | Calming Skincare Routine
"This is the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner and I love the texture of this, look at that, so watery, so thin, and yet so much hydration. It just feels like a great drink of water. My skin just drank up that first layer, going in for a second one. This is just that good watery, deep, replenishing layer that my skin is craving without being too thick."
My Top 5 Hydrating Toners | 2025 Edition
"This toner doesn't have exfoliation benefits, which is good for me because I'm very sensitive to exfoliation in my skincare routine. What it does well is hydrate the skin in a really good texture that I call a universal texture, something that will work for pretty much every skin type because it's pure water. It's so watery there's no slip, there's no bounce, there's no body, there's no plumping to it, it really is just water. If you have very oily skin that just can't tolerate thick layers of skincare, even a little bit of slip or a gel-like consistency can feel so heavy on your skin, but this will just sink into your skin without any weight. It's weightless on the skin and you can layer this up multiple times. If you like the seven skin method where you layer a hydrating watery toner onto your skin multiple times, but you're sensitive to texture building up thick on your skin, this is perfect for multiple layering without any type of weight, and it really dives deep and feels incredibly replenishing."
Top 10+ K Beauty You Need to Try in 2024!
"The Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner is so good because it's so simple. [...] It has a very minimal ingredients list, it's not trying to do too much, it's not trying to blast your skin with lots of humectants. It's just very simple but very hydrating and very watery, and I think it will suit a majority of skin types. It doesn't offer a lot of slip or body or thickness, which I think can be kind of overwhelming for some oily folks or even balanced skin types. It can feel like too much. This is pure water that's absorbed very quickly into the skin. But if you're suffering with dehydration or maybe a little bit more of a drier skin type and you do benefit from more hydration, you can actually layer this up into your skincare routine. That's a true K Beauty secret: to apply your toner more than once to really achieve maximum hydration. This texture really allows you to do that effortlessly. I think oily skin, balanced skin, combination skin, dry skin, you're going to enjoy this formula."
EPIC SKINCARE EMPTIES | Start Fresh Moving Edition
"This is the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner. It is probably the thinnest toner that we're going to talk about in today's video. As far as texture goes, it's very very watery, very quickly absorbed into the skin. I would say it's pretty pretty good hydration levels. But because it is a little bit thinner, I do think it brings a little less to the skin. I'm very picky about hydration. This is pretty darn close though. And I do enjoy this in the warmer months when my skin actually isn't as dehydrated or as demanding as thirsty. I'm going to rate it a 9 out of 10."
Ranking Summer Skincare Empties! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
"I'm going to rate this a 10 out of 10. It's that perfect unicorn toner for me, that right watery, really refreshing, quickly absorbed, non-sticky texture. It's really layerable, but each layer of toner is incredibly hydrating, really replenishing to my skin. It just doesn't weigh it down at all. Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner, yep, you've seen it in a lot of other empty videos before. It's very similar to the Numus In toner, although I think Numus is just the tiniest bit more hydrating. Round Lab is actually really perfect for the summer months for me because it is so weightless, so breathable, not sticky on the skin. I'm rating this a 10 out of 10."
10 Simple and Gentle Skincare Products!
"Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner is another one that really delivers deep hydration in an almost universal texture. It's going to work for any skin type in my opinion. There are some really great hydrating ingredients in here including panthenol, glycerin, and niacinamide, and it really does dive deep into the skin. So if you have dehydrated skin, I think you might enjoy this one because sometimes you just need that deeper hydration. I think this really provides it nicely. There's some seaweed content in here and that can be a really great balancing ingredient. This also contains sea water and alanine, both of which are actually soothing ingredients, quite healing for irritated skin. And this also contains sugar cane extract, which is interesting to see in toners because it has a very, very slight clarifying effect for the skin. It's not exfoliation, it's not full-on chemical exfoliation, but it gently encourages excessive dead skin cells to shed away from the skin, so it can definitely be nice for a little bit of a smoother feeling to your skin if you struggle with texture."
Spring Skincare Renewal AD ft. Stylevana
"This is such a great foundation to a skincare routine because it's really light, quickly absorbed into the skin, and deeply hydrating. This formula from Round Lab also contains an enzyme that helps to gently encourage dead skin cells to shed away from the skin, and that results in smoother texture and brighter, clearer skin. And this product can be layered up multiple times on the skin because the texture is so quickly absorbed and really light and watery. Perfect for any skin type."

"This is a super hydrating toner that you could also use on a cotton pad to gently remove dead skin without it being overly exfoliating. It has dead sea water in here to help maintain the hydration of your skin, then panthenol and allantoin, which helps soothe. This is a nice one to put on [...] cotton pads and leave on your skin. If you get hot rosacea like I do, having it flare up, you can soak it in and leave it on and you get this instant soothing feeling. It's very watery so I prefer to use it on a cotton pad. One of my favorite toners, and a multi-award winner. It's also really good on dry legs if you get dry legs [...] in the winter."

"This is the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner. From what I remember, this is just a super hydrating toner with Seawater, which the brand says it's full of minerals to help keep the skin healthy. Things like Panthenol and Allantoin. So it's moisturizing, hydrating, soothing. But if you are after something that simply hydrates in a really, really nice way, this is one of the better toners at doing that. I love Round Lab as a brand for somebody who does like hydrating my skin without overdoing it and without hydrating products that leave a greasy finish, because some of them do. I think a lot of hydrating products nowadays want to hydrate the skin, but also make you feel like it's been overly hydrated by leaving a sheen. Round Lab products don't do that. They hydrate from within, and then you just naturally see how much better your skin looks for it."

"We're kicking things off with the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner, renowned as the number one toner in Korea. I personally love layering this toner about two to three layers, especially when my skin feels parched and dehydrated. Inside, this toner boasts deep sea water from Korea and features patented Hatching EXO7 technology to control sebum production, as well as allantoin and panthenol for that extra hydration and soothing properties."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
