    What the gurus are saying

Tretinoin at this strength earns consistent praise as a foundational nighttime active that delivers visible results on aging skin. Gurus treating mature skin value it as a non-negotiable staple, and note it performs identically to other 0.05% tretinoin formulations regardless of brand name. Those new to tretinoin may want to introduce it gradually, a few nights a week, since prescription-strength retinoids can irritate sensitive skin at first.

"I would be calling in a refill for tretinoin. This is a non-negotiable. This is what I use at night time as my main active ingredient. I'm using the Retin-A brand tretinoin cream at a 0.05%. I would remain on this strength, and I do plan on staying on this strength for quite a while because I still get quite flaky. Even 7 years, almost 7 years of using tretinoin, I still get flaky. And the flake happens every 3 to 4 days. So, once I have the flake and I remove the flakes, 3 to 4 days later, the flakes are back again. So, it is an every 3 to 4 day struggle, but it's well worth it because every time you remove those flakes, your skin just looks glowier. You have this brightness to your skin. It's also improving texture, tone. It's stimulating new collagen. It does so many wonderful things for our skin for anti-aging. I use this at night time only, and I do like to pair this up with growth factors. This pairing is exceptional."

"I'm going to be moving on to the Retin-A tretinoin cream at a 0.05% strength. It's basically the exact same thing as the Stada brand, just a different brand name. The packaging of the Retin-A is bigger than the Stada, so you're getting 25 grams with the Stada and now I'm getting 30 grams with the Retin-A, so a little bit more product when you go with this brand, which is a bonus. I haven't tried this yet, but I know it's going to be the exact same thing because it's just tretinoin cream."

"I'm very happy with this. I'm glad that I can still use tretinoin. This is Retin-A cream at a 0.05%, and they also have a 0.025% and they also have a 0.1%. I'm going to be using this eventually. I have backups of this in my linen closet because these have a really long shelf life."

"This is a prescription strength Retin-A, it's tretinoin, it's a 0.05 percent. If you put this on your eyes on this skin it's going to eat it up like battery acid. So if you're dealing with fine lines and wrinkles, a way that you can still use your prescription strength retinoid is that you can add a little bit of a barrier, so you could add like a nightly moisturizer. You would do your tretinoin around your face, avoid the eyes, put a moisturizer on it first. It gives a little bit of a barrier. I like to switch to a retinol, an over-the-counter non-prescription for around the eyes because the skin is very different. You wouldn't want to put this on your neck because the skin on your neck is very similar to the skin on your eyes."
