What the gurus are saying

Gurus split sharply on this product. One praised its hydrating, non-greasy texture and performance on acne-prone skin. The other flagged lemon essential oil as a problematic inclusion for sensitive and breakout-prone skin, citing irritation risk and potential photosensitivity concerns as dealbreakers. The core disagreement hinges on ingredient safety for the stated target audience.

"I loved this moisturizer personally and I think the aesthetics of the whole line are great. It does have a slight scent to it. I think overall they really did a great job with the formula. I think it's hydrating and how it plays with your skin, especially if it's acne prone. This is a really nice from a tactile perspective, a nice moisturizer. It's somewhere between a gel and a cream. Maybe you can call it a gel cream, maybe a lotion. Absorbs really nice. Isn't greasy at all. The shea butter base is something that I personally like a lot."

"With really sensitive, acne, breakout prone skin, I really do not understand why, especially lemon essential oil. Citrus essential oils are some of the most irritating essential oils that you can use. And when citrus essential oils are exposed to UV rays and sunlight, they can oxidize more rapidly, which can lead to skin sensitivity and irritation. So, I just don't understand why it's being used. There's no reason for it. Unfortunately, I have to say for that reason I do not recommend this formula, and I definitely would not be using it on my own skin. This is a product range for people who have the most sensitive type of skin. So, I just don't think that anything is worth the risk."
