"This is a retinaldehyde serum from Purito. I was really surprised by this and I am on bottle number two. The retinaldehyde can get converted to retinoic acid in the skin, improve collagen, improve the visible signs of sun damage. I use a topical retinoid on my face, so I don't put this on my face. The reason I don't put topical retinoid on my chest is that I find they're very irritating. I decided to give this a go in those areas, and I am not turning back because I notice a visible improvement in the texture of my skin on the upper chest. The softness, the luminosity, plus it just gives the skin a really nice glow. This does have 10% niacinamide, which is much higher than the percentages used in the studies showing benefit with niacinamide. Doesn't necessarily have any confirmed additional benefit to go that high, but it could be more irritating. I know a lot of you guys are sensitive to niacinamide. Tranexamic acid in this is good for the moisture barrier, as is the niacinamide."

"The serum has kind of a tacky finish to it which feels sticky on the skin. Just something to be aware of in terms of layering. Given that this has retinaldehyde, you want to make sure to start using something like this slowly. Maybe introduce it a couple of nights a week and work up gradually to using it every single night as tolerated because in the beginning it will cause, through the increase in cell turnover, your skin to be a little bit dry. That is a temporary side effect. The retinaldehyde in this product is encapsulated which is really good for the stability and the delivery of the ingredient. You can actually see the little spheres suspended in this product. When you get it, they separate out and you're supposed to shake it to distribute them before dispensing it into your palm to apply it to your skin. One thing I noticed is that the little spheres are a little stiffer. Like you actually feel them on the skin, almost a little bit of a gritty texture. They don't dissolve and blend into the skin, melt into the skin as readily."
