What the gurus are saying

Gurus split on whether this toner delivers. Fans praise its soothing formula and ability to feel nourishing while staying watery and lightweight, making it easy to layer. Skeptics find it unremarkable and not hydrating enough to function effectively as either a toner or essence. The texture is consistently described as light, but reviewers disagree on whether the product's claims of moisture and soothing pay off.

"The Purito Oat in Silky Toner is very friendly for sensitive skin. It's got a nice milky texture to it with oat seed water, metal foam seed oil, oat kernel, and beta glucan, which is great for skin soothing and wound healing. I absolutely love this stuff and have repurchased it a couple times now, which says a lot because I try and finish a lot of products but for the most part won't repurchase again because I have other things to try. Well worth checking out."

"I've had it for a while and it's average, it's not exciting. It seems to be kind of similar to a lot of products that I've already tried. It's okay, but it's not super exciting and it's not terrible. I don't reach for it often. It didn't feel super hydrating to me. I mean, it kind of didn't do a great job as a toner. It's not great as an essence because it's not terribly hydrating. For me, this one was just kind of overall not terribly exciting."

"The oil is not creating a really thick texture or very creamy texture, it's still very watery like you would expect a toner to be, quickly absorbed with a nice amount of hydration, but you're going to feel a lot more moisture, a lot more nourishment, a lot more richness. If your skin gets irritated from dehydration or dryness and that's why you're seeking out a moisturizing toner, this one does have a soothing effect to it. What's also unique about this is it's still maintaining a lighter texture, it's mind-boggling because you expect something that has this amount of richness to have to be quite thick, but it actually has this really nice light property to it, which truly makes it an appropriate toner type of product because toners go at the beginning of your routine. If you like to use other products, sometimes really thick toners can interfere, so I think that this layers up really nicely. One or two layers of this for skin that is feeling a little bit dry is perfect. If you're really dry, go for more, but just know the more that you put this on, the more rich it becomes and the more the oil starts to build up."
