What the gurus are saying

Experts split on whether this sunscreen is actually reliable. The hydrating formula earns praise for being exceptionally moisturizing and smooth, with no white cast or fragrance, and it's particularly valuable for those with dry, sensitive, or rosacea-prone skin. However, dermatologists can't overlook the brand's prior scandal with false SPF claims and are skeptical the new manufacturer has genuine sunscreen expertise, leaving this more of an everyday moisturizer than dependable sun protection.

"This is their Daily Go-to Sunscreen, SPF 50 plus with PA4 plus. It is both a chemical and a physical sunscreen with five different filters including tinosorb M and juvenile T-150, which is extremely photostable and absorbs all available UVB filters today. It also has titanium dioxide, which is a classic physical filter. It has centella asiatica to help calm your skin and an antioxidant known as madecassoside. I think I prefer this one if you have dry skin. It does not leave a white cast and it has a nice creamy texture."

"This is particularly good if you have dry skin. This is a Korean sunscreen, it's SPF50 and PA+++ meaning that it not only has very strong UVB protection but also strong UVA protection. It's not fragranced at all, it goes on the skin so smoothly. Now if you have oily or kind of like normal or combination skin you might find that this is too heavy or too greasy but I find that for a very hydrating or moisturizing sunscreen it really doesn't feel heavy on the skin but it does have a little bit of a sheen to it. So if you find that your skin gets dry or tight over the course of the day like mine does I think you'll love this, otherwise it might be a little bit too heavy for you."

"I don't have much confidence in this as a sunscreen because of the brand's prior scandal where their sunscreen had a substantially lower SPF than claimed, and I'm not confident the new manufacturer has expertise in sunscreen formulation. It is very moisturizing with no white cast, but it's more of an everyday moisturizer that happens to have some sunscreen ingredients—good for someone staying indoors—but I wouldn't recommend using it as your sunscreen."
