    What the gurus are saying

This 0.2% retinaldehyde gel works best for experienced retinoid users; those new to the active may want the 0.1% version and should ramp up slowly, maybe one night a week at first. Experts praise it for anti-aging power, noting it helps skin shed dead cells faster and bring fresh skin to the surface, making skin brighter and smoother, with minimal irritation when used thin and buffered with moisturizer. The formulation is texturally well-executed.

"I've got the Prequel Retinal Renew, and if you're newer I would recommend the 0.1% to start with and use it in your skincare routine. If you're new to it, add it in very slowly, maybe use it one night a week and slowly ramp it up if your skin tolerates it well. Another tip is if you're very new to retinoids, you can mix it with a moisturizer and then apply it, which helps your skin acclimate to it. Retinoids are the gold standard for anti-aging. It helps with skin cell turnover, and it's one of the best steps for brightening your skin as well."

"This is a really great anti-aging and acne fighting product. I haven't had any issues with it. Some people say they wake up with it on their pillows and it stains them, but I'm a back sleeper and I usually really smooth it over my skin. I don't usually have a thick layer of it on. I just put a thin layer on and sandwich it between a moisturizer."

"Most dermatologists would agree that retinoids are the backbone of any great skincare routine. But creating one that's powerful enough to deliver real results, gentle enough to use consistently, and texturally exceptional, that's a real challenge. Which is why I am so excited for this launch. Meet Retinal Renew, our 0.1% and 0.2% retinaldehyde gels."
