What the gurus are saying

This sulfur cleanser wins praise for tackling redness and rosacea while avoiding the harsh smell and stripped feeling typical of sulfur products. The formula stacks sulfur with soothing actives (azelaic acid, shea, panthenol, aloe) that reviewers found reduce inflammation without harshness. Some apply it as a mask, letting a thick layer sit for a few minutes before rinsing.

"If you have redness-prone skin, rosacea-prone or an actual rosacea diagnosis, you have to check out the Prequel Redness Reform Sulfur Cleanser. Since I started using these, my skin has been so much less red than is average for me. The reason it works so well for rosacea-type skin is that it has sulfur, which is kind of one of those catch-all ingredients that can help a wide variety of skin conditions: acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis. It also has azelaic acid. Do not sleep on azelaic acid. It's such a good ingredient for the skin, especially for redness-prone skin, and that's why it's in here. There's also a soothing ingredient in there that's great for the skin. This is technically a cleanser, but I like to use it as a mask. I take a good amount, apply it all over my face in a thick layer, and let it sit for two to five minutes if I have enough patience, letting it work as a mask before I wash it off."

"This cleanser is formulated with protective acacia senegal gum colloid, which is essentially a molecular complex that helps improve the dispersion and efficacy of sulfur within the formula and helps reduce the odor of sulfur. People often associate sulfur with that strong unpleasant smell of rotten eggs, but this cleanser is actually very pleasant because of the mindful formulation. While there's just the slightest hint of sulfur, it's not off-putting. And that matters because using your products consistently is how you get the best results. In addition to sulfur, this cleanser is also formulated with a full stack of soothing ingredients. There's azelaic acid in a hydrosoluble patented form to support clearer, more even tone. Shea to calm sensitized skin and support the skin barrier. Alphitol, a potent antioxidant that soothes and brightens. Panthenol for improved hydration and elasticity. And aloe vera to soothe immediately. There are also a few calming ingredients like fitins osmanthis, a unique antioxidant with proven calming properties, neocensil, a targeted soothing complex for sensitive skin, and guazelene, known for soothing and responsible for the cleanser's natural green tint. Every ingredient here is doing something intentional. This is an ultra plush foaming cleanser that creates a gentle cushiony lather. When I use this, I feel clean and refreshed but never stripped, tight or dry. You could use this as a morning cleanser or an evening cleanser. I've actually been loving using it in the morning because it sets my skin up to look its best throughout the day."
