What the gurus are saying

This fragrance's warm, floral character appeals to everyday wearers seeking something classically pretty and close-wearing. Those who tried it appreciated how gently it stays throughout the day without overwhelming those around them. Fragrance connoisseurs, however, see it as derivative, combining familiar elements without offering anything new or distinctive.

"I tried a new perfume today, [...] the Prada Paradox one, and it smells really nice. I wanted something a little more classic, floral, fresh, and it definitely is, but it's warmer too, which is good. But I really like it. I don't always get around to all the perfumes I receive because I stick to the classics [...] I love the most, but I'm glad I tried this one on. It's actually really nice."

"The second perfume I bought is Paradox from Prada, which I bought in duty free. I'm no expert on perfumes, but it has notes like pear, mandarin, jasmine, orange flower, musk and amber. It's slightly floral, slightly sweet, with a little freshness from the tangerine, and there's vanilla in there too. It doesn't change much throughout the day, it just gets a little sweeter when I apply it and dries down to more of the jasmine, so it's not overpoweringly sweet, but it stays with me all day without coming into the forefront of my mind. It doesn't transfer through the whole office, [...] it stays close to me, which is something I enjoy because I hate getting suffocated by other people's perfume. [...] So I like it. But if you are a perfume connoisseur and not just some random girl spritzing herself with things she likes, like I am, this is probably a disappointment for you, since apparently in the fragrance community it's seen as smelling like a hundred other perfumes mixed into one, nothing new or exciting."
