    What the gurus are saying

This pH-adaptive stick applies directly to cheeks and lips, and transforms to match your skin's chemistry, becoming a personalized flattering pink with a balmy finish that delivers a naturally glowing look. Since it's balmy rather than powdered, it won't last quite as long as traditional blush, though experts found it perfect for casual makeup where a light touch creates the soft, healthy glow you're after.

"This is Pixi On-the-Glow Blush in the color Juicy. And it is exactly what I need right now because it's sort of like this little ray of sunshine which I need to give to my face. I'm only using the tiniest bit. And I always focus it sort of here and up because my face is old and I don't want to drag anything down. Sometimes it can look a little heavy if you put too much on. I go back in with my little foundation brush and just blend it in at the edge."

"The first is a blush this is by Pixi it's called On-the-Glow Blush it's like a blush stick. I picked this up recently in the states in a beautiful coral color which is called Juicy. I'm kind of obsessed with the coral thing at the minute and it just makes me happy it brings me joy and I find this fantastic. I think I have used this most days I'm wearing it now it's kind of subtle you can't really see it too much but it's so pretty gorgeous color love love love. I just love it yeah every day."

"This is their pH tinted moisture stick so they have other colors but this one is the one that tints your cheeks and your lips. I love using it on the lips too but it tints your cheeks and lips depending on the pH of your skin. This looks so cute, for a fresh look it's so beautiful. I also love the balmy finish that this gives, looks very fresh and healthy on the skin. I will say because it's more of a cream balm finish it doesn't have as much longevity as a powder blush does, but the way I've used this is more for the running errands kind of a look where you just want a little bit of a pinch cheek situation or a really natural pink lip. It's beautiful, I love it and I think it feels so comfortable on the lips because of that balmy texture. It gives the skin a really beautiful healthy glow because of the balmy texture plus the pink color that it creates based off your pH. This blush became a favorite of mine so fast and I didn't put it down."

I Tried NEW Drugstore Makeup... YESSS 😍
"You're just going to apply it directly to the cheeks and kind of press it in with your fingers and then it's supposed to kind of change color to match your personal pH. It really is actually the perfect size to just swipe on the cheeks and then as you can see it's just kind of slowly tinting into a really soft little pink color that's actually so flattering. It has like a balmy finish as well. I really like this. I liked everything about that so far. I'm glad I tried that. You can see the pH happening a little bit more on the lips. I love the balmy glow that it gives. That's so pretty."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

    Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
