What they flagged

Nothing. None of the experts who reviewed it raised a problem.

    What the gurus are saying

This cream quickly reduces redness from dry, tight skin and leaves the complexion calm and glowy without heaviness, making it especially valued as a winter overnight treatment. The lipid complex mimics skin's natural barrier to lock in moisture, and it carries an eczema seal of approval, which gurus view as reassurance that it avoids common irritants. Those with sensitive skin or rosacea may find it particularly helpful, though it works well across skin types.

"I've been really appreciating their calming relief line. In particular, their redness relieving facial cream. This one is suited for rosacea prone skin, which I happen to have. I'm particularly prone during the winter time when it's cold and dry. My cheeks get really red and that's exactly what this is for. Treating that redness that comes from dry, tight skin, whether it's from the environment or whether it's from treatments. This really has been the best in my experience at quickly reducing that redness. This has their biomimic technology which uses a lipid complex that imitates what we have in our own skin to really strengthen the barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss. I love this as a winter overnight treatment. In the morning, everything just feels so calm. [...] The finish on this is so beautifully glowy. It's skin flattering and the texture of this, in my opinion, it's not heavy at all. It is moisturizing. There's no scent suitable for all skin types, including very sensitive skin."

"It's a great option in general for people who are dealing with sensitivity, but it's marketed for people who have eczema. Like, it's got the eczema seal of approval. [...] It is another layer of reassurance that this is free of common aggravating ingredients for eczema. I have really enjoyed this and I'm glad I repurchased it."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
