This is an exfoliant but I find it to be very gentle and you can actually use this once a day. You can build up and work up to using this once a day. I would say start one to three times a week maybe at night, and then you can start to up that maybe over the course of six weeks or so. This is phenomenal and for those of us who do have acne or hyperpigmentation or texture, it has ingredients that actually help with those things. Can you see how my skin is also just bouncy, exfoliated and not overly irritated? This also has ceramides so it's hydrating. It has a hyaluronic acid complex which pulls moisture into the skin.
