    What the gurus are saying

This serum-like sunscreen delivers a sheer, lightweight finish that leaves skin dewy and glossy throughout the day, with no white cast. It provides SPF 50 protection paired with hydrating antioxidants from pomegranate, green tea, and oat to address environmental stress on skin. The lightweight formula works well for normal to oily and combination skin, and people appreciate that it feels invisible and never leaves skin looking heavy or matte.

"The Paula's Choice, this is the Youth Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid, this is supposed to be pore minimizing, which I have found to be true. It dries down somewhat matte and it goes on like a serum, but it does tend to minimize pores once it dries down."

"One of my favorite sunscreens from Paula's Choice, the Resist Youth Extending SPF 50. This is an organic sunscreen, chemical sunscreen, there's no cast, it's a really nice hydrating formula. It has antioxidants in it from pomegranate and green tea which may help diminish or lessen the burden of oxidative stress upon exposure to environmental stressors."

"The Youth Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is the closest thing that American beauty has ever gotten to K Beauty. This goes on so sheer, this is so beautiful. It's an SPF 50, it is lightweight, and Paula's Choice just knocked it out of the park with this one. I've recommended this to so many people, who all say that not only do they love it, but they go back and buy like five more. It's a really good price, especially if you apply enough of it every single day. Sunscreen can get expensive because we're reapplying and we're making sure that we put it on all areas that are exposed to the skin. This one protects against UVA and UVB rays, but then it also has ingredients like oat that actually nourish the skin with beta glucans to hydrate. This is so so good."

"I use Paula's Choice sunscreen and I really like this because it's SPF 50 which is super strong and I prefer a dewy look on my skin. This is great because I don't think it's super matte and it keeps me looking all glossy and shiny all day. There are so many great sunscreens that don't flash back and this is one of them. Paula's Choice Youth Extending Day Fluid is so fine good, it is excellent for people of all skin tones."

So You Haven’t Worn SPF For The Past 20 Years… Here’s How To Start!
"This is the Youth Extending Daily Hydrated Fluid. This is for normal to oily to combination skin. I really like this on mine and this is an SPF 50 with antioxidants. This is another great choice if you are someone who is looking for skin care that actually does skin care while taking care of your sun protection needs. This is also a really light formula, so if you're someone who's like oh I hate that feeling of goop on my face then this honey bunch is not going to be for you, but this one absolutely is."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
