What the gurus are saying

Experts praise many Paula's Choice products for working well on sensitive skin and note the brand holds its own against pricier competitors, though not every formula lands. The main split centers on ethics: some gurus flag that the brand lost its Leaping Bunny cruelty-free certification and now sits under Unilever ownership, which they see as misleading given its former messaging. Price creep is also a sticking point for those watching the cost climb. A heads-up: the brand doesn't focus on pigmentation concerns, so those looking for that may need to look elsewhere.

"Paula's Choice has become a focus of a class action lawsuit. If you look at this Paula's Choice bottle from a couple years ago, you will see the Leaping Bunny logo on there. And then if you look at one of their more recent releases, there is no Leaping Bunny on it. So a lot of people are making allegations that Paula's Choice has been testing on animals or has been selling where testing is required and not really telling anybody or disclosing it. Paula's Choice is now owned by Unilever. It does seem misleading to kind of lead your customers into believing that you're cruelty-free when you are indeed not."

"Paula's Choice, studies show the material 3000 peptide Duo helps decrease the appearance of fine lines, wrinkle depth and wrinkle length. It also helps with texture, elasticity and skin tone. It contains yeast ferment, apple extract and basilis ferment. It's very expensive, 20 milliliters or 2/3 of an ounce for $59."
5 Skincare Brands at Sephora to Avoid & Why - 5 Brands Worth Trying!
"Paula's Choice, not every product's a winner. They're pricier but they're certainly not $300, and a lot of their products are very good for sensitive skin, so I think Paula's Choice is still worth trying."

"I actually really love this brand and I talk about it all the time. I love Paula's Choice and a lot of their products come up. I wouldn't say I love every single one of their products, so do watch the Paula's Choice video if you want to know which ones I would say to avoid. I would say Paula's Choice doesn't really specialize in pigmentation and so they don't have that many products that have been designed."
