What the gurus are saying

Short contact therapy with benzoyl peroxide is the draw here, letting people with sensitive skin get the acne-fighting benefits without prolonged irritation. One reviewer uses it five times a week as a targeted treatment rather than a daily cleanser, washing it off quickly to avoid over-drying. A dermatologist counts it among gentler benzoyl peroxide options, though notes it can still irritate if left on too long, so it works best for those who can tolerate brief contact with the active.

"It's proven itself to me over the years as an acne fighting ingredient, so even though I don't like this product I treat it almost more like a medication. I use it about five times a week now, and the more often I use it the better it treats my acne."

"Therefore, it's safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. My recommendation here would be either the Panoxil or the [CeraVe] acne foaming wash in the 4% cuz it tends to be a little bit more irritating. You can use it as a short contact mask like 30 to 60 seconds and then rinse it off. It does work better the longer you leave it on. If you have body acne, the 10% option might be a little bit better for you and will be just as safe."
