What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently report that OPI Nail Envy delivers real strengthening results, particularly for growing out longer nails and reducing breakage and snagging. The polish application is durable and chip-resistant. A notable caveat: some people experience allergic reactions or increased dryness and brittleness, so it does not work for everyone. One reviewer expressed uncertainty about whether the product causes incompatibility with certain polishes.

"I've been using OPI Nail Envy and I don't know because I'm like it can't be my polish or is it the way that my polish is reacting to OPI Nail Envy being underneath? I don't know. I think I'm going to try a nail hardener. I'll try a nail hardener and then use the other polishes."

"OPI Nail Envy is a nail hardener that really works well. I'm able to grow my nails out to this length when I use that and it looks like they look really good when I use that consistently. But that turns into this thing where once a week I have to take it off because the nails start to grow out, I have to use nail polish remover, put it back on again. Which it's fine, but I'm lazy and I don't want to dedicate my time to that all the time."

"I use OPI Nail Envy as a base coat and that stuff makes my nails so hard. I took all the nail polish off last Sunday and my nails are still going strong. It really makes a difference. I don't have brittle nails as a disclaimer, and I've never had problems with nail growth, so I'm not saying it's a solution to those issues. But my nails when I grow them out, the edges get real snaggy and they kind of curve a little bit, and I can't stand it, so I usually just cut them short. But whenever I do the Nail Envy, it does allow my nails to grow out a little better and I'm able to tolerate having them longer."

"This is the OPI Nail Envy. I've had this bottle now for over a year. Anytime I paint my nails I love using this because it's a nail strengthener. It really does keep the nails, I find that it cuts down on the nail breakage when I do a manicure. But it also is a really really good base coat. The nail polish does not chip. The longevity of the nail polish using that is just wonderful. The nails themselves, you can see my nails I've kind of let them grow out a bit, usually I cut them a lot shorter, but they are not brittle now. If I had not used that nail strengthener I could not have grown them out to this kind of length. They usually get a little thin on the edges, but when I use that strengthener pre nail polish I'm able to grow them out without that issue."

"This works, it is a nail hardener. You have to be careful because a lot of people are allergic to the ingredients in these nail hardeners and it's going to end up causing more problems for you in the long run. Some people find that they make their nails more dry and brittle, but for me this works like magic for my nails. It keeps them from snagging on things and it allows me to grow my nails out long, and the polish stays on."

"I swear by OPI's Nail Envy as the base coat because I've had this on for going on a week now and it really helps the nail polish stay on a long time and it is a nail strengthener so it makes your nails like really hard. I use that, let it dry, then put the nail polish over."

"I painted my nails with the OPI Nail Envy and it's the only thing that helps keep my nails from breaking. When they're growing out, I can actually grow my nails out when I wear it."

"I really am seeing improvement with this. My nails will grow to this length but then once they start getting a little longer they grow and they get easily broken on the edges and they get on my nerves, but I can tolerate growing them a little bit longer if I have been using OPI Nail Envy. That stuff works really well."
