What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise the lightweight, fast-absorbing formula and moisturizing performance at an affordable price point. The scent is noticeable and may bother fragrance-sensitive users. The main frustration is packaging: the formula's thickness makes it difficult to dispense from pump bottles, though squeeze tubes work better. Retinol pairing with niacinamide is seen as a smart choice for long-term skin barrier health and reducing sun damage.

"It's a very lightweight formula. It absorbs quickly. It glides on the skin, so you don't have to apply a ton of it to make it move around the skin, which is really nice. It does have kind of a medium strong scent, so if you're very sensitive to scents, maybe you wouldn't like it, but I would rather an unscented version. It's very moisturizing. It's a dream. It's an absolute dream. It was relatively affordable. The packaging is a little bit annoying though. The formula is slightly thicker and it's a lot harder to get out of the packaging. With the squeeze tube it's a little easier and you can cut open the top and scoop it out, but if you get the larger one with the pump, it's almost impossible to get out."

"I'd like to try their Olay Retinol 24 Smoothing Body Lotion. Retinol and a body lotion is useful for improving the appearance of sun damage. It does have niacinamide, which is a great ingredient actually to pair with retinol for sun damage, for hyperpigmentation, for all sorts of benefits for the moisture barrier. It's one thing about retinol, it kind of gets a bad rap because you get a lot of dryness and peeling and irritation. And people don't realize that with long-term consistent use, ultimately it improves barrier function. And therefore in the long run, you have better moisture retention, less dryness in general, and less susceptibility to flare ups of dry skin."
