What the gurus are saying

Gurus are enthusiastic across the board, praising the gentle yet effective cleanse and travel-friendly format. The fragrance-free retinol and hyaluronic acid versions are standouts for year-round use and sensitive skin, while the vitamin C variant works best in warmer months due to its scent. Reviewers consistently note the melt won't strip skin and appreciate the option to double cleanse with a single pack lasting about a month.

"These are basically little pads that you activate with water into a lather to wash your face. I love that they have a fragrance free one with hyaluronic acid. I think these would be great for travel. Retinol can be deposited on your skin from a wash through the process known as coacervation. Retinol in a cleanser is probably a lot less irritating than other forms, so for those of you who have really sensitive skin and haven't tolerated retinol, you might try it in a facial cleanser and take advantage of the short contact therapy approach. Be careful using this around the eyes though as it can be irritating to eyelid skin."

"There's the Olay Cleansing Melts. I like the hyaluronic acid ones. But they also came out with some gentle ones that have no dyes on it, things that are made more for sensitive skin. I love those."

"It's probably the most thorough yet gentlest cleanse that you have ever experienced. I do feel that way about the product."
These Skincare Products are Going in the TRASH!
"These cleansing melts are water activated. You stick it in your hand, stick your hand underneath the water, and as it gets wet, it gets activated. You rub your hands together and you get enough for a single use. I love these. My favorites are the hyaluronic acid and the retinol. They're both fragrance-free and they feel really amazing on my skin. I also do love the vitamin C, but the vitamin C I can only wear when it's warmer out because it has fragrance in it and I don't love the fragrance, though it goes by so quickly that it's no big deal. I do prefer to have the fragrance-free ones. They also just came out with gentle ones, which are fragrance-free and don't have dye in them, so if you're someone that's sensitive to that, you might want to give these a try. I can finish a pack of melts within a month because the pack has 32 in them and I wash my face twice a day, sometimes three times a day."
LOW Anxiety Skincare Routine for Dummies 2025
"It's not classified as a deep cleanser. When you use it, your skin doesn't feel stripped. Your skin just feels like, okay, I'm ready. As soon as the Olay Cleansing Melts came out in 2024 and I was using it beforehand because I had a campaign with Olay so they gave it to me a little bit before it hit the market, I have only been using the Cleansing Melt from that point on. In the summer time during the warmer months I was using the vitamin C cleansing melts, but then as it started to get colder out I've been using either the hyaluronic acid ones or the retinal ones because those are more hydrating."
Summer Skincare for the SWEATY AF! (Comprehensive Guide)
"I have been using these Olay Cleansing Melts for at least since April or at least 2 months before it came to Market as part of a campaign and let me tell you something I am obsessed. I love this it feels so amazing on my skin my skin feels like a baby's bottom after I'm done with it. You can also double cleanse with this, you know just use another one again after you have used the first one to remove your makeup. I use them every day but they're also amazing for travel. They come in retinol hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. The retinol and hyaluronic acid are both fragrance-free I find those to be the ones that I could use most times of the year especially in the winter time but I've been using them during the summer as well. The vitamin C ones I feel like for my skin, my skin is pretty much oily but as it gets colder out it gets a little bit on the drier side. I feel like the vitamin C is better for me in the summer."
