What the gurus are saying

A little goes a long way with this oil, and it rinses out cleanly in the shower without leaving hair greasy, making it a lighter alternative to straight coconut oil. Gurus recommend applying it to dry ends and leaving it for at least an hour or overnight before washing, where it coats and smooths the hair while buffering it from shampoo's stripping effects. Those with fine hair may want to reach for the lighter mist version instead, since the regular formula can feel a bit heavy.

"It really makes a world of a difference and it smells like coconuts. It smells so tropical."

"The OGX Coconut Miracle Oil is really nice. A little bit goes a long way. You can coat this on your ends almost like it's a coconut oil treatment before you shampoo. It contains coconut oil and vanilla bean extract that provides a nice luxurious scent, and other plant extracts that help add shine and smoothness. This oil can act as a buffer to protect your hair from the stripping effects of shampoo, so for those that have an oily scalp and need to wash their hair frequently but worry about damaging their hair, this would be a really cool product to use. They do make a lighter version for fine hair, but the regular version is a little bit heavier."

"I like to use the OGX Coconut Miracle Oil, which is such a good product. Using something like this still gives you the benefits of using a coconut oil but it's a much lighter product, so I find that it rinses a lot cleaner in the shower. I will apply it to kind of the dry ends and then usually I'm going to work out, which allows it to kind of sink in. I like to keep it in for at least like an hour, but that's a personal preference, you could use it overnight if you wanted to and then rinse it off in the morning. When I shower and wash my hair, I just find that my ends are a lot smoother."

"I used to use the OGX Miracle Coconut Oil but I've recently made a change to the Mist version because it's a bit lighter weight on my super fine hair. I usually just spritz a little bit of this right on top of the pre-treatment, and by using an oil it sort of helps to coat the shafts and protect it from the water when you're showering. It does not leave you with a greasy feel. It does not interact badly at all. It actually makes things go a bit smoother."

"This is by OGX and it is called the Coconut Miracle Oil. I'm addicted to this and this you can pick up at the drugstore for next to nothing. The night before I wash my hair in the morning I give my hair a good dollop of this stuff all the way from roots to ends and I sleep in it overnight. I think it's helping to coat the hair, it's helping to make my hair feel softer. So this for me is replacing all the other oils. Absolutely digging it."

"I'm out of my favorite hair oil from OGX. I love the Miracle Coconut Oil. They also make an Argan Oil I'm going through this one right now and it looks yellow but it's clear because if you have light blonde or if you have gray hair you don't want to use a yellow oil and sleep in it overnight before you wash your hair because it will just stain your hair, but this one is clear. I prefer the coconut oil as opposed to the argan oil but they're both wonderful products for prepping your hair before wash day."
