What the gurus are saying

This sunscreen earns near-universal praise for its weightless, disappearing texture that feels like a moisturizer rather than a sunscreen, making it especially beloved by those with oily skin who want protection without shine. Gurus highlight its clean finish under makeup, lack of white cast, and hydrating formula with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. One reviewer noted it has a slight green tint and found it slightly drying by day's end, though most experienced it as genuinely soothing. The main caveat: it's not water-resistant and washes off quickly with sweat or humidity, so it works best for daily indoor or winter use where reapplication isn't an issue.

"My personal favorite is the Numbuzin Clear Filter SPF 50 sunscreen. It's super lightweight, fast absorbing, gives a nice little glow to the skin, and is really good for reducing sensitivity and irritation."

Every Product I’ve Emptied in 2026 (and What I’d Rebuy 👀)
"The Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence SPF50+ PA++++ is the best sunscreen hands down. If you're someone who has more oily skin, you don't want your sunscreen to look super shiny. You want an ultra lightweight experience with a ton of beneficial ingredients for your skin. It really is just the best of the best. And I found myself returning into it so much. I would use it a lot more on the daily. However, I try to preserve it as long as I can just because it's not often that I'm able to find this one back in stock. However, I did purchase four bottles recently. So, I'm stocked up for a while and I definitely will be consistently using this one every single day."
My Most Repurchased Korean Skin Care Products 🧴
"The Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence SPF50+ PA++++ completely changed my perspective on sunscreens. Not only is it ultra lightweight and does not leave your skin looking greasy or heavy afterwards, it has so many good soothing antioxidant-rich ingredients that I feel like it's just the perfect addition to any suncare routine. In my yearly roundup videos where I highlight all of the best skincare products of each year, this one has consistently made it on the list. I'm so obsessed with it. I keep running out of this one and I keep having to repurchase it. It is so freaking good. If you're wanting, in my opinion, the ultimate Korean sunscreen experience, this is the best. I adore it. I'm going to keep repurchasing it and highly, highly recommend it. As someone who has really oily skin, I've repurchased it so many times and always carry it around with me wherever I go."

"My personal favorite is the Numbuzin Clear Filter SPF 50 sunscreen. It's super lightweight, fast absorbing, gives a nice little glow to the skin, and is really good for reducing sensitivity and irritation."

"It doesn't feel like super shiny. It feels more hydrating than like shiny or greasy. It has no scent at all. The texture feels pretty nice. It feels hydrating but not greasy. And there's literally no smell to it at all. When you're around those American sunscreens, they just smell so chemically. And this literally has no smell and it feels really nice and silky. I love the anti-aging peptides. Sunscreen is the real anti-aging ingredient, but it looks like we've got lots of good filters in here. We've got some peptides, niacinamide, soluble collagen, and several other peptides like Matrixyl 3000 peptide duo and argireline, the Botox in a bottle peptide. For filters it looks like we've got five or six chemical filters in here, so it feels nice and light. It's definitely on the radiant finish, but it doesn't feel greasy or anything like that."

Best Moisturizing Sunscreens 🌞 My Favorite Day-to-Day SPF's - Sensitive Skin Friendly!
"I've got the Numbuzin No.1 Sun Essence which is 17 bucks, chemical sunscreen with five filters. We've got Centella, heartleaf extract, aloe, it's wonderful, it's amazing. It has a really nice finish on it. No fragrance in it and lovely finish and everything like that. Works great under foundation. Numbuzin is overall a pretty good brand, they're hit or miss occasionally but overall way more hits than misses."

Avene RetrinAL Ceramide Lipid-Replenishing Balm & Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence
"It's not a new product but they renamed it, so it's just a newer product packaging name of their sunscreen which is actually really quite nice and very invisible and non-greasy feeling. It feels really nice on my skin. I've been using it for the last few days and I'm really enjoying it. It just works really nice over moisturizer and vitamin C and isn't drying at all."

1 Year Review // Is Numbuzin still Good? Honest Review (The Best, So-so’s and The Worst)
"This is my favorite product. It literally feels like a moisturizer, it's so lightweight, the finish is not sticky at all. It's a chemical sunscreen and it can sting your eyes, but I didn't see anybody saying that. To make it really hydrating they use ten different types of hyaluronic acid, but it's not long lasting against water and friction, so if you live in a really humid climate or you're doing sports, this sunscreen isn't appropriate because it's going to wear off so quickly. But the good thing is it washes off easily with a cleansing foam, so it's great for daily use, especially in the winter when you don't sweat that much. All skin types will love it, even guys."

"It is slightly green, so I wonder if it's going to be a little bit color correcting. That is definitely a difference between this and my Hada Labo Wonder Black Rice Airy Fit, in that that one doesn't have any kind of a tint or a cast to it, it's just white, but it rubs in perfectly clear. What I like about this one is that it's not shiny. It goes on feeling really, really nice. It just feels like a lightweight skin lotion. It doesn't feel greasy, and look at that nice finish. It does have a little bit of a soft luminosity, but nothing like super duper shiny. It blends in really, really nicely. I'm not sure that the green tint really did anything as far as reducing the redness like I feel like you still see the redness here."

Products I LOVED & HATED! MUST TRY Makeup, Skincare, Fashion!
"I tried a new sunscreen that was this Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence, it's an SPF50 with a PA++++ rating. It's a Korean sunscreen and so it uses all the Asian European filters and it's got all the same sunscreen ingredients as my Haru Haru Airy Fit Black Rice that I love so much, but it does have like a slight minty green cast to it and it does have some skin soothing ingredients, so I think it's meant to be kind of like an anti-redness kind of skin soothing sunscreen. But it also does include niacinamide, which, if you're also getting a lot of niacinamide in your skincare from other places, it might be over the top, too much niacinamide. I didn't find this irritating, I didn't find it particularly soothing, I didn't think that the green cast really did anything to hide any redness in my skin. For me it was just okay, and I did find it slightly drying by the end of the day. I thought it was okay but have not been reaching for it on a regular basis."

"It's a chemical sunscreen with five all new generation chemical filters. I've really been enjoying the sunscreen this month because we've kind of fully gotten into some warm weather and those sunny days are really starting to kick in, my oil is really starting to kick in, and I'm appreciating those lighter products now. I was really impressed with the texture and that's why it's a favorite for me and why I've been using it a lot this month. The texture is really weightless. It's one of those sunscreens that I say I forget that I'm wearing it, and that's a good thing. What I mean when I say I can't feel this sunscreen is it's not heavy."

Weightless Sunscreen? | Numbuzin no.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence Review
"There's a hydration gel-like element to this and it definitely spreads really easily, very effortlessly across the skin and it kind of almost like disappears. That gel effect becomes very transparent but this actually feels very weightless on the skin. The claim is that it's very lightweight and it absolutely is, so lightweight, so breathable. The word I'm embracing here is weightless on the skin. I was very impressed with this. It's not like every other gel cream texture. You spread it across the skin, you feel that hydration, you feel that thinness, and it starts to absorb very very quickly into the skin almost in a way disappearing onto the skin and has a very quick dry and absorbency. Absolutely no white cast here. This actually blends really well into the skin, so you're not going to get these streaks. Sometimes I'm very generous with my sunscreen application and I get streaks because I didn't rub it in super well, but absolutely did not occur with this sunscreen at all. Nothing built up around my dark eyebrows or my dark hairline, so I do believe that this would be a very beard friendly sunscreen. It's not going to build up all clumpy and white. Definitely a very very pleasing lightweight breathable texture is super impressive. Something I was really impressed with is the finish of this sunscreen because there's a hint of dew but it's really not overly shiny. It's not a glass skin sunscreen."

"This just vanishes into your skin, it is truly a sunscreen that does not feel like sunscreen. It is alcohol free, fragrance free, has the perfect packaging, and does not have a white cast as you're applying it, it just sinks in and disappears. It's SPF 50 plus PA4 plus and wears beautifully under makeup. The only potential drawback is that it has a lot of plant based ingredients, and that doesn't work for everybody, some people need a more simple ingredients list."
Yay
"My favorite is probably their number one sunscreen, which is just for sensitive skin. Blends and creates really well. I'd say this is one of the most underrated Korean sunscreens out there. A lot of people who have oily skin say this plays perfect, but it's really hydrating, really lightweight."
