What the gurus are saying

Experts praise this sunscreen for its weightless, non-greasy texture that spreads effortlessly and dries quickly without white cast, making it especially appealing to those with oily skin or anyone seeking a breathable daily formula. The gel-like consistency and hydrating feel earned consistent applause for blending seamlessly, even around facial hair and darker skin tones. One reviewer found the niacinamide concentration heavy if already using niacinamide elsewhere, and experienced mild dryness by day's end, though most others report no drying effects and appreciated the soothing antioxidant blend.

"I am so obsessed with this sunscreen. I would have so many more empties of this one if it wasn't always sold out. This is the best sunscreen hands down. If you're someone who has more oily skin, you don't want your sunscreen to look super shiny. You want an ultra lightweight experience with a ton of beneficial ingredients for your skin. It really is just the best of the best. And I found myself returning into it so much. I would definitely be consistently using this one every single day."

My Most Repurchased Korean Skin Care Products 🧴
"The Numbuzin No. 1 Clear Filter Sun Essence SPF 50 not only is it ultra lightweight, does not leave your skin looking greasy or heavy afterwards, it has so many good soothing antioxidant-rich ingredients that I feel like is just the perfect addition to any sunscreen or skincare routine. In my yearly roundup videos that I do where I highlight all of the best skincare products of each year, this one has consistently made it on the list. I'm so obsessed with it. I keep running out of this one and I keep having to repurchase it. It is so freaking good. If you're wanting, in my opinion, like the ultimate Korean sunscreen experience, this is the best. I adore it. I'm going to keep repurchasing it and highly, highly recommend it."

"This one's got licorice root, niacinamide, aloe, and centella. It's really quite nice and pretty affordable. They've got the same filters, so they're pretty effective. If I would be on a boat for five hours, this is the one I'm going with."

Avene RetrinAL Ceramide Lipid-Replenishing Balm & Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence
"It's a newer product packaging name of their sunscreen which is actually really quite nice and very invisible and non-greasy feeling. It feels really nice on my skin. I've been using it for the last few days and I'm really enjoying it. It just works really nice over moisturizer and vitamin C and isn't drying at all."

"I tried a new sunscreen that was this Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence. It's an SPF 50 with a PA+++ rating, it's a Korean sunscreen and uses all the Asian European filters and it's got all the same sunscreen ingredients as my Haru Haru Airy Fit Black Rice that I love so much. But it does have like a slight minty green cast to it and it does have some skin soothing ingredients, so I think it's meant to be kind of like an anti-redness, skin soothing sunscreen. But it also includes niacinamide, which if you're also getting a lot of niacinamide in your skincare from other places, it might be over the top, too much niacinamide. I didn't find this irritating, I didn't find it particularly soothing, I didn't think that the green cast really did anything to hide any redness in my skin. For me it was just okay and I did find it slightly drying by the end of the day. I thought it was okay but have not been reaching for it on a regular basis."

"There's a hydration gel-like element to this and it spreads really easily, very effortlessly across the skin and it kind of almost disappears. This gel effect becomes very transparent but feels very weightless on the skin. The claim is that it's very lightweight, and it absolutely is so lightweight, so breathable. The word I'm embracing here is weightless on the skin. I was very impressed with this. It's not like every other gel cream texture. You spread it across the skin, you feel that hydration, you feel that thinness, and it starts to absorb very very quickly into the skin almost in a way disappearing onto the skin with a very quick dry and absorbency. Absolutely no white cast here. This actually blends really well into the skin. I sometimes get these streaks because I didn't rub it in super well, but absolutely did not occur with this sunscreen at all. Nothing built up around my dark eyebrows or my dark hairline, so I do believe that this would be a very beard friendly sunscreen. It's not going to build up all clumpy and white. No white cast, definitely a very very pleasing lightweight breathable texture that is super impressive. The finish of this sunscreen is something I was really impressed with because I would say there's a hint of dew but it's really not overly shiny. It's not a glass skin sunscreen."
