What the gurus are saying

Gurus who use it consistently love the Trinity, praising its lifting and firming results and booster mode, with many preferring it to competing models. The catch is non-negotiable: results require ongoing use and disappear when you stop. The recurring complaint is inconsistent adherence, devices tend to gather dust, negating any benefit. Community consensus is that it works, but only for disciplined users.

"It's kind of like a tiny gym for your face. It's going to help with your muscle tone over time. And indirectly, there may be some benefit when it comes to your intrinsic cellular health. You're going to get a short-term lift, a short-term snatched effect. But it's only going to really work if you do this very consistently, aka every single day for a few minutes a day, five times a week or so. But if you are doing this consistently over time, you will maintain your muscle strength and it will help with your skin cellular health."

"I find it especially helpful for lifting and depuffing and redefining the jawline. I love pairing this with my deeppuffer serum because with the deeppuffer serum and this you're attacking puffiness in the moment as well as in the long term. It is a tried and true that I have used for years and when you use it consistently you definitely see results."
Everything No One Told You About The Skin On Your Neck & Chest | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"At home tools that can potentially help your neck, the NuFace Trinity. This is a tool that utilizes microcurrent. It delivers low level electrical currents to stimulate muscles and ATP within your muscular cells. And on the neck, this can give a very subtle effect of tightening, but you have to use it very consistently to see the results, or else the results will not be visible."

"Microcurrent devices like the NuFace Trinity are great only as long as you use it consistently. Microcurrent can generate ATP in your cells which can help boost collagen and elastin in the longer run, but it's just annoying to do it. It's like going to the gym, it's like another routine that I don't have time for."
How to Reduce Fine Lines & Wrinkles from a Dermatologist! | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"I have a NuFace Trinity and I think the NuFace Trinity in my opinion works a little bit better than the Zip. Microcurrent devices release ATP from your skin cells to allow your skin to really regenerate and tighten and contract over time and to help with collagen production. But devices are only as good as you're going to use them. If you've never wanted to get a facelift and you are really gung-ho about making a difference for yourself, buy one, but make sure you use it. You have to use it every day for like at least 20 minutes all over your face. If you have that in you, it can make a difference, but once you stop you're probably going to go back to where you started."
How to Get Rid of Sagging Jowls from a Dermatologist! | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"With microcurrent devices like the NuFace Trinity, if you don't use it you don't see any benefit from it. If you use it you will see benefit from it. When you stop using it you will no longer see any benefit from it. You only get the benefit from it as long as you use it. The device delivers low-level electrical currents to the muscle and to the tissues of the face which can have several beneficial effects. Number one is muscle stimulation, so it's going to help to get that muscle kind of contracted and moving which can help with lymphatic fluid. It's not going to make your muscles bigger. Number two, supposedly it helps to promote collagen production, helping to stimulate the ATP supply, the energy supply of your cells, promoting collagen to get secreted and for your skin to look slightly plumper over time. It improves circulation of course it will because your muscles are slightly getting stimulated and you're actually physically moving it kind of like with a roller or a spoon or a massage. The biggest thing is reducing fluid retention or temporary lymphatic drainage is what you're going to probably see the most from this in the short-term effect. You will look better in the short term when you use this, but it will probably come back within an hour."

"This is going to help to stimulate all of your skin, your collagen production, your muscle stimulation. It is a great device. Very honestly, I've had this. I had the Zip. I think I prefer this to the Zip. It seems more intuitive. The Zip for me never quite gelled, but it's you and your preference. Do I think one is technically better than the other? No, I think it's you and your preference. This uses electrical muscle stimulation, also known as EMS. If you're somebody who is prone to TMJ and you clench a lot, do not use this. It might make it worse, so just be careful. But if you do this often enough, your face will get more sculpted. I was using it more often back in February and March, and people were telling me I looked more defined."

MY MORNING ANTI-AGING SKINCARE ROUTINE - A.M. SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINE USING VITAMIN C
"This is really nice and when you first start using this you want to use this daily and then once you've been doing that daily for quite a while then you can drop it down and just do a few times per week as maintenance. I like this better and I think this performs a lot better as well. This is smaller, it's not as heavy, it's more compact, you can easily travel with this, and it doesn't take as long to use. This one is a quicker treatment and I just really love the lift and how your face looks contoured after the treatment has been completed. This is also a device that I feel keeps the results going longer, so after you've done your treatment I feel like the results last for about a day or so and then of course you would have to use it again to keep the results going. This is something that you have to be consistent with, especially at the beginning, but then once you get using it for a good length of time then two to three times per week really is sufficient enough and it really gives that nice lift to the skin and your skin just looks overall more rejuvenated. This is microcurrent, so it's like giving your facial muscles a little workout. It stimulates blood flow as well and you have to use this with a conducting gel."
MY MORNING ANTI-AGING SKINCARE ROUTINE - SKINCARE OVER 30 (WINTER/SPRING SKINCARE ROUTINE)
"I used to use the NuFace Trinity. I still have it, I just don't use it anymore because I think this is a lot better. The results last longer with this in between treatments, and this is a lot smaller, lighter, and more compact. It's also quicker to use as well."

"My favorite is the NuFACE Trinity. The way this works is that it increases ATP in the skin, which is your skin's energy currency. Skin that has more energy, that's more energized can do more. It can make more collagen. It can make more elastin. It can fight off the everyday stressors that our skin comes in contact with better. And it really helps to give me a temporary lifting and firming of my skin. I use the NuFACE Trinity every other morning and I alternate it with my red light mask."

"I've been using the NuFace Trinity for years and years now, still do use it and still love it. The NuFace Aqua Gel helps the device glide along my face and it also keeps it from giving me any shocks or tingles so that it's a perfectly comfortable treatment. It is a little messy to do and so there are times when I kind of get tired of doing it and take a week off here or there, but overall I still love it."

SPRING Sephora SALE! Top Picks for Mature Skin!
"The NuFace Trinity is a microcurrent device that I've been using for about 10 or 12 years now. I did a test on this way back in the day and I really was amazed at how it just lifted my skin. It's very subtle, but it does do something for your skin. Basically you're giving your skin a 10-minute massage with microcurrent, which is electricity that runs between these two balls and shoots the electricity into your skin. It helps your skin produce more ATP, which is your skin's energy currency, and skin that has more energy can do more. Skin that's been hanging around on your body for 50, 60 years is tired and not making as much collagen and elastin as it used to, and the more tired your skin is, the more tired your skin looks. It just looks better when I use this than when I don't. This is the more expensive model because the heads pop off and you can get different heads to put on here."

Winter Anti-Aging Skincare Routine Update! Over 40, 50, 60+
"This is a treatment that I do every other day. I love this. I love this new model because it has this 25% extra boost to it and I find that that really helps. What I like this best for is I find that it really helps to lift my face. It helps to sculpt my jaw, it helps to sculpt my cheeks, it helps to lift my eyebrows and just make everything look more lifted. The microcurrent matches the electrical current that your skin uses and so it really helps your skin to produce more ATP, which then, if it has more energy, presumably it can then produce more collagen."
Anti-Aging MORNING Skincare Routine | Over 60 | WINTER 2025
"The device I use alternating mornings with the Omnilux mask is the NuFace Trinity. This is a microcurrent device. The microcurrent in this matches the microcurrent, the electricity in your skin, and it helps your skin to produce more ATP, that energy that feeds the mitochondria in your skin and helps your skin do more, so it can pump out more collagen, more elastin, more ceramides, more hyaluronic acid, more everything. But on the surface it also helps to lift and firm your skin. So if you have hooded eyes that are sagging or if you have sagging jowl or sagging nasolabial folds or want to raise your cheeks, doing this treatment can definitely help with those things. That part of the treatment is much more of a temporary effect. It lasts for anywhere from a half a day to a couple of days depending on how often you do it. It does require conducting gel. I like the NuFace gel, this is my favorite gel, and it's just very soothing to the skin."

"I love this Trinity. I do use the mini when I travel sometimes but this is my at home version and I love it that it has this booster button so you get 25% more power with the microcurrent. This is the device that I've used the longest. I've been using this for about eight or nine years now and I love it. The microcurrent that they use matches the energy currency of your skin, the ATP, and so it helps your skin to produce more energy and skin that's more energized can generate more collagen, it can generate more elastin, it can generate more hyaluronic acid, all the things that you need in your skin to keep it younger looking. Plus the massage that you're giving your face really helps to uplift your skin. I've noticed the biggest difference in my cheeks and in my eyelids when I do it. It really helps with the hooded eyes. It also helps to bring more blood flow to the skin and more blood flow brings more nutrients to the skin that can again help it to do all the things that it needs to do to look and act younger. So this is one of my favorites. I use it all the time."

"With the NuFace Trinity, I find I have to do a plate grip which is a little bit more stressful on my CMC joint. The microcurrent is going to give you that instant toned look and the nanocurrent is a deeper current that's going to work over time to help collagen and elastin production. Of course, all these devices only work if you use them consistently. I really love the app, it's relaxing, it makes intuitive sense, and it helps me explore other treatments that I might not use besides the one that comes with it."

"The NuFace is a great device, it's FDA cleared. I love this because it just is ergonomically so friendly, which is a good thing to have in a microcurrent device. I don't need to like look in the mirror, it's not very complicated. It's FDA cleared, it makes sense. It's adding a little bit of electrical energy into the skin cells. It does help with collagen production."

"A NuFace is still a great device. I used it for a long time. I like to do it right underneath that cheek. I'm energizing that skin, I'm causing a little stimulation in the mitochondria of the cell producing ATP, which is the energy of the skin. Our skin gets lazy as we get older. Cell turnover slows down, which is why we need retinoids, which is why we need microneedling, which is why we need to trick the body into producing collagen and elastin."

"With the NuFace Trinity, you're using a press and hold, so all you can do with this device is push up and press and hold. You're going to get a better result with this because this is what they use in the office. Another reason why I like this device is because you can tell when you have conductivity. You see this line how it's blinking that shows that I don't have conductivity, so either the device isn't on my skin or I don't have enough conductive gel. It lets you know if you're using other creams, are you getting true conductivity, because you can't really feel anything with this."

"When used consistently you can see small bits of tightening and reshaping of the face, however you need to use them incredibly consistently and continuously to maintain those results. If you're willing to do it for 15 or 20 minutes every day and keep up with it, go for it, but in terms of all the things that could be helping your skin or getting you the results you want, that's not going to move the needle the same way an in-office treatment would."

"I love that it's microcurrents that help to stimulate your skin, help firm and tighten the skin. There's a lot of benefits that come from regular use and it helps with lymphatic drainage as well, so you look less puffy. It's just a great product overall. Definitely not cheap, but one of the very few skincare tools that are pricey that I'm like yeah, that's worth it. It does make a difference. I can tell when I really went hard on it, the cheekbones are showing up."

"The NuFace Trinity required too much commitment from me. You really need to do it every day, usually every morning. It's radio frequency so you smooth it over your skin and the electrodes stimulate your nerves. The results on this were so short lived and not long lasting. It really requires you to use it every day and I just couldn't do it. I can do something a couple times a week but I can't sit there for 10 minutes a day doing this."

"If you use it, obviously you see a little bit of lifting. The before and afters on the NuFace website are true because literally if I use it on one part of my face, especially this area, and I don't use it on this area, you see the lifting. But there's no long-term benefit. The first device which I do not recommend is NuFace or any microcurrent device because it doesn't work."

"I tried NuFace a while ago and gave it a temporary kind of tightening effect that was not long lasting throughout the day, but it's good in a cosmetic sense. I do feel like it's nice to do before you put your makeup on, kind of cuts down on puffiness."

"I saw a subtle plumping effect that was very short-lived. I didn't get much in the realm of tightening. When you use this it does kind of give a tingly sensation, especially around the forehead, almost like an electric shock sensation. It's not unbearable but if you're sensitive you may not care for that. To me this is overhyped, but I do think a lot of people find it beneficial for skin tightening and they do see a sustained improvement throughout the day. It depends on the amount of laxity that you have. Know that this is unlikely, unless you're using the one with the red light, to actually be changing much of your collagen. It really mostly works by stimulating underlying muscles. It's only going to work if you use it, and I found this of all the devices I have tried to be one of the most laborious, and I did not stick with it."
10 WAYS TO TIGHTEN LOOSE SAGGY SKIN | Dermatologist
"NuFace is a microcurrent device that stimulates the muscles underneath the skin and when those muscles are stimulated they may swell up a bit temporarily. When I used this device I did notice a subtle plumping firming effect of my skin but it was short-lived by the end of the day it was kind of gone. It's a device that a lot of people do see results with but it's only going to be as good as you are consistently using it. There's not much in the way of research backing the claims that it makes but a lot of people find it's beneficial. In my experience using it I found that it was kind of like a great way to tone the face just to kind of give a more contoured makeup look but I would not hang my hat on it reversing laxity. The results are only as good as you are at actually using the device and staying consistent with it. As soon as you stop using it the results go away and you're back to square one."

"I've used the NuFace, I've used the Myo Lift, the Myo Lift is one of my favorites and that's something that I can use professionally but it's available for purchase at home and it's not majorly dangerous the way something like at home PRP and microneedling is. It's not a laser, it's not dangerous but you can do it at home. I've literally told clients, hey what I'm using on you right now is the NuFace, you can literally get this at Sephora or Ulta and you can use it at home and if you use it every day you'll see better results than coming to pay me 150 bucks to just do it once or twice a month. If I'm using the NuFace on someone in clinic, why can't they go home and use it?"

"I think we definitely still need more literature on the true efficacy. You have to use almost like a lubricant, a gel ideally that is from the same company so that works the best. This is something that I would use intermittently, really kind of before a big event so that way my skin just looks tighter, looks more lifted, and most importantly helps to depuff. You have to use it, I believe, like 5 minutes, and then you have to use it 5 to 6 days a week for about 4 to 6 weeks before you kind of jump into the maintenance. The time commitment is probably very similar to other devices, but I don't personally have the time to every day or at least five out of seven days a week to use a device five minutes on my face. There's more evidence in LED light devices, and it's also just a little bit more friendly for me with my schedule."

"Microcurrent devices use a very small electrical charge to stimulate the smooth muscles under your skin to lift and tighten up. By using this electrical current you can stimulate the smooth muscles to contract underneath the surface of the skin causing the skin to look tighter and lifted and the results can actually be pretty impressive from these devices. If you want to turn back the clock by five years or so literally in the span of a short at-home treatment then these devices could definitely be worth your while."
