What the gurus are saying

The gurus split sharply on whether microcurrent actually delivers results. Those who back it say it firms skin and helps with facial tone, and praise the mini as lightweight and effective at a lower price point than the full-size model. However, several experts are skeptical that muscle stimulation addresses how faces actually age (fat loss and redistribution matter more), and one calls it a scam that duplicates what hands or a gua sha can do. Durability is a real concern: some report the device failing within a year, though others found it effective when it worked. The gel can be annoying to reapply, and the price point works only for those ready to invest.

"I also grabbed the NuFACE mini for $165, which is about $100 off, so that is a really great deal as well."

"You do it three times a week and it gives you that little lift in your hoods, the little lift in your jawline, the little lift in your cheeks, and it is so worth it. If that is just out of your price range, or you already have the Trinity and you're looking for one for on-the-go, or something that's just less expensive, they do have the NuFACE Mini in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, this one is 165 down from 250, so not quite as great a deal as you get on the Trinity, but still a good deal. They have the exact same base current, but you don't get the 25% booster with the Mini. It does come with a bottle of the conducting gel."

"So the first device which I do not recommend is NuFace or any micro current device because it doesn't work"

"This is what's used professionally and in clinic. It's from NuFACE. I love this because you can actually target muscles, and as a professional we can use gloves, or you could probably do it at home and use your hands to give yourself a microcurrent facial. I've always shared that I don't love the NuFACE big one, I like the mini because it's more lightweight and I feel like it works just as well."

"If you've got the NuFACE Mini, that's not my favorite, but if you already have it, wait for that sucker to break before you go and get something different. Wait for it to break, because don't waste your money if you already have something in that modality."

⚡️Microcurrent is a low-level electrical current that mimics the body's natural current
"Probably the most famous of all the microcurrent devices is the NuFACE Mini because it's been around forever. I still have this, I still use it, it's not my favorite though. In addition to stimulating muscle contractions and improving facial tone, it's lymphatically draining, so that will also help you look a little bit more chiseled, and it helps with wound healing, and that's where I think I'm getting the most benefit from it. When you look at how the face ages anatomically, muscle tone is not one of the top ways the face ages, because we're constantly moving our face, so muscle tone is not one of the top three ways our face ages. It's the redistribution of fat that's the most common cause of aging."

"First I got the old NuFACE Mini. I got this maybe four or five years ago and I did use it consistently, three times a week maybe, but that was about 30 minutes in order to hit all of the areas that I wanted to hit."

"I'm going to start with my least favorite device and give you the reasons why: it's the NuFACE Mini. I didn't like the gel that came with it, that was kind of my first impression, this is troublesome, I have to keep rewetting my face, it was sort of annoying. The second thing is it died after a year."

"This is my NuFACE Mini. I'm still in the process of getting a warranty replacement for this because it conked out after a year. I wasn't consistent in using it, that was actually before I even started this 12 month review, so I wasn't able to use this except for a couple days at the very beginning. I enjoyed this, I had no complaints about the NuFACE Mini, it gave me the results that I was looking for. In fact if it had lasted I might not have investigated another microcurrent device, so this is a great little device and I do recommend it. The only issue, and I've heard it from you guys too, is that it tends to die right when the warranty lets up."

"There's a product that I don't talk about on my channel really at all, but I am a fan of, the reason being it's very expensive and I usually like to recommend affordable products to you guys. The NuFACE Mini is on sale for 25% off in a kit. NuFACE is one of the only skincare tools that I'm actually a really big fan of, a lot of dermatologists, estheticians and chemists are fans of it too. I won't get into the deep science of it all, but it basically shocks your skin to help stimulate collagen production, leading to healthier, more bouncy skin. It's really effective, it's no joke, but definitely the price point isn't for everyone and I personally don't often see it on sale, so I just want to throw that out there. If you're wanting to invest a little bit more into your skincare experience, that is one of the few tools that I would recommend."
