This is great for all year round, but especially come summer because I'm going to be outside a lot more, I'll probably gravitate towards this one a lot more, like late spring into early fall. If you have accelerated signs of aging or spend a lot of time outside, I'd use this one every day, at least in the morning, and use the second generation mist at night, though you can use both every day twice a day. "I finished The NIOD Superoxide Dismutase 3 face mist. I liked the version 2 much better than this one. This stuff was terrible, really hard to mist it evenly. The previous version you could mist and be very even to the point where you could apply it over makeup. I just apply this like midday as I'm going through the day for some hydration boost and things like that, but yeah, the nozzle, the sprayer on this was awful. And it did have a scent. It wasn't a fragrance ingredient, but it had a strong scent from one of the ingredients. This one, it's nice if you can suffer through the mist nozzle or just repurpose a spray bottle that worked well for you. And that's how I ended up finishing it. It was in a spray bottle that I'd used that worked really nicely. But it was kind of more expensive. I prefer the NIOD 2 version. Just personally."

"The nozzle on this mister is not even. So when you apply it, you really have to rub it in. I'm not loving that. It's like a Nerf super soaker gun. It has just a little bit of an acidic smell and then it goes away. They changed their formula for their superoxide dismutase. It contains the newest form of SOD, which is SOD 3, extracellular superoxide dismutase. It's a form that lives outside cells and is supposed to be stronger than their other versions. Superoxide dismutase neutralizes free radical damage, so pollution. If you live in a big city like New York City or Hong Kong, it will protect your skin from damage from pollutants and things like that in the air."

"I like the fact that they used a tinted plastic to package this to protect the ingredients. However, the nozzle on this is terrible. It's awful. I don't know why they picked this nozzle, especially if they're working on it for 3 years. The nozzle is a main issue of this. It's not up to the quality of the old nozzle. A lot of other products that are much more affordable have a much better nozzle as well. [...] There's no denatured drying types of alcohol. There's no fragrance ingredients, but this does have a distinct scent and it's not a pleasant scent, I would say. It's somewhat herbal. It does dissipate, but it makes using it not as pleasant as it could be. I'm not exactly sure which ingredient it's from. I don't know if it's from the ergoanine which may sometimes give products a sulfury scent or if it's a scent from the fermentation process, but it does have a strong scent. It does dissipate, but it does make it slightly unpleasant to use. [...] Ease of use is my other main issue."

"For 40 bucks, the Superoxide Dismutase Mist I love this mist, it's super nice, it's got super fine particles on it. I use it over and under makeup, so it's great for protecting your skin from free radical damage, pollution, and environmental stressors. In here we've got malachite extract which is made from a specific stone and they shave it down and it's great for antioxidant protection. It's got arginine in here, it has Iceland Moss extract, polyrhamnose extract, and then the star of the show in this one is the superoxide dismutase, super strong potent antioxidant that protects your skin. The superoxide radical is a very common free radical that causes all kinds of damage in skin cells, and the superoxide dismutase is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of superoxide radicals into molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide, so it stops it from damaging your skin and converts it into something that is not damaging for your skin. [...] I like to use it, I use it a lot quite often. I pretty much use this one every day."

"The key ingredient is that superoxide dismutase in third generation version. They've actually isolated this and it's naturally compatible with our skin. Our body automatically produces the superoxide dismutase version. But as we age, the amount we produce dips like that as with so many other things in our skin. And so using a topically applied superoxide dismutase is a great way of just keeping those levels high. This third generation version is different to other versions and other antioxidants on the market. Most of them will work by going into the skin and interacting with those free radicals. What this does is it actually works on the outer layers of the skin. So it prevents the oxidative stress from happening much earlier on in the process. So these free radicals hit us and it deals with it kind of on impact if you see it like that. That is subtly different to what a lot of the other antioxidants do which is why I love it. It does this product does also contain some traditional antioxidants too. The ones that work in the deeper levels of the skin. So you're kind of getting that double whammy which is why I think it's so effective. It's nice and hydrating. They've got some great hydrating components to this."

"The antioxidants in here are very specific to NIOD and they're hard to find externally. They help calm, reduce inflammation, and protect against cellular damage. This is just one of the best mists. "Another good option is this Superoxide Dismutase from NIOD. This is a very fancy mist but I absolutely love this. There is no cure for rosacea, we can just try to support the skin and use prescriptions that can help treat things right, and anything over the counter is really going to be supplementary to what a dermatologist prescribes. But I have found that anecdotally superoxide dismutase does look promising and again anecdotally with patients and clients it does help their skin. There was one study that actually looked at how rosacea prone skin reacts to ROS, these reactive oxygen species and this free radical damage, and this study found that the release of superoxide dismutase, which is an enzyme with antioxidant activity, is another mechanism providing defense against oxidative damage in rosacea prone skin. So theoretically if we apply superoxide dismutase topically to the skin, that might help. Again, is it going to cure it? Absolutely not. But can it hurt? Probably not. And if you really like the spray form of this or if you have rosacea and this is something that you're willing to give a try, I've heard and seen anecdotally this antioxidant does great things and I personally love it."

This purple little bottle has superoxide dismutase, such an amazing antioxidant. Although it's not the same as sunscreen, there are some studies that are looking at its potential to boost up a sunscreen or to help with UV damage from the sun."
