What the gurus are saying

This vibrating cleanser's exfoliating pads were far too aggressive, reviewers described the sensation and effect as resembling a power sander on the face. Even every-other-day use led to visible damage and irritation of the epidermis and dermis. Despite being marketed to younger consumers, the vigorous exfoliating action made regular use problematic.

"Neutrogena launched their Neutrogena Wave, which was a vibrating cleanser that used disposable cleansing pads instead of brushes aimed at younger consumers."

"Their Neutrogena Wave, remember the sandblaster for your face, I was knee-deep in that and it was knee-deep in my dermis. I mean that thing was just like a power tool to destroy your skin."

These Products No Longer Exist In My Routine & I'm Thankful About It
"The Neutrogena Wave was literally like a spinning sander. It just went in one direction and it was like a sandblaster to your face. It had these little pads that you would stick on that were exfoliating and would foam up, but it was literally like taking a sandblaster to your face. And here I was struggling with acne, understanding certain things about how exfoliation can help products penetrate or kind of bring pimples to the skin. But oh my god, I was just stripping off my epidermis and I was using those things like every other day."
